Re: Drawing Tablet problem with Moho

There are Freehand options, I'd try different values for smoothing.

Re: Maintain the volume of an object

Select transform tool, grab side/middle handle (NOT corner handle), press alt, drag.
Shift seems to do nothing (in v11.5).

Re: Caustics

The main feature seems to be rings that appear and disappear, so you may have 2 layers of wildly oscillating lines rectangular to each other plus some of these rings on top. But this effect might be done easier with a pixel filter in AFX.

This should be familiar to anyone having used morphing software ... back in the 1999's, anyone remember?

Re: Cartoon Saloon is looking for Moho artists

Of course, if it suits your style, nothing's wrong with smart bones. Mine is different - and my jobs are not funded in a way that I can spend too much time for elaborate rigging. It's just not feasable for a 1 or 3 min film. Doing characters for a feature or series, that would be worth the effort. [...

I'm on 11.5 (and don't have any experience with smart bones).

Re: Cartoon Saloon is looking for Moho artists

For those working remotely: which version of Moho will be required?

Re: transparent Background

Exporting video with alpha is just a matter of chosing the right codec. Apple ProRes 4444 is one of them, PNG with MIllions+ Colours another.

Re: High quality render error

I understand your choice of workflow. However, I only once ran into trouble with Moho and rendering, and that was when I had about 20 Quicktime movies of about 2000x2000px each in a file. After that I made it a habit to check all assets for overblown size, and had no trouble since. In scenes with no...

Re: Sort the layer

Your problem is not layer sorting, your problem is overlapping actions and no reset. Consider what you really need. Is is a perfectly rigged character with actions and turns for every occasion? Then you need to debug and redo your actions until no conflict occurs. Depending on your rig this may turn...

Re: High quality render error

In that case (lots of images) try to split the project in terms of foreground, background, etc, so you can render out layers which are easily stacked and combined later. (Isn't that what Layer Compositions are for? I just do with switching them visible/invisible by hand, but have them organized in h...

Re: High quality render error

The project size is not unusual, so what's the content? Do I guess correctly that you have a lot of imported bitmaps in that project?

Re: Move origin of selected points?

You can't. This isn't a coordinate stored in the file, but it gets calculated each time you select a bunch of stuff. If you need a pivot point, bind the selected items to a bone.

Re: Forget Head Turns, please.

I should add that I watch this kind of video mostly without sound - it's too annoying to always listen to people, and one can study the movements much more undistracted. Classical animation still borrows a lot of its facial expressions from that old and otherwise totally forgotten vaudeville traditi...
