Likely is the issue. Or the bitdepth. 44.1/16 worked fine for me. Didn't try anything in between!

All: Thanks for your input. As it turns out I was doing everything perfectly but part of AS is faulty. The source audio happened to be at 96KHz/24Bit. The downsampling component of AS6 didn't playback in sync with the keyframing NOR did the render component render in sync with the keyframes. I conve...

Ah! I stand corrected. You know, in the AS6PRO tutorials there's NOTHING about using it. Only about using Papagayo. Isn't that strange? To the point of this thread : I think Papagayo is reasonably good. I've never used Magpie. I guess as a well-seasoned protools/sound-track audio guy I assume it wou...

"AS6 has built i lip sync?" Hm. Not sure about that InfoCentral. If you want to do matched phenome lip-sync you're going to need Papagayo at least. AS6 will import the .dat file it generates with the accurate keyframing. AS6 does audio-level syncing. Basically opening a mouth when the audi...

Swtich Layer : Masking - Strokes not included

I'm designing a switch layer for eyes. I have 2 eyes (pupils) that I want masked using the eye outline shape. This way I can reshape the eye outlines to close and it will simply hide the pupils, wherever they're looking. (note: the eye shape has a fill so the whole thing is the mask, not just the ou...

Issue Resolved : 96KHz/24bit Audio Source No Workies.

AS will LET you import audio that is hi-fidelity (96KHz/24Bit) but upon playback or render it doesn't downsample it correctly. The result is that the audio (probably not the actual timeline animation) slips occasionally. AS Audio Import should ONLY allow 44.1KHz/16bit import to safeguard this, but a...

Just realized that my source audio is 96k 24bit. Will retest with 44.1k/16.

Likely that the downsampling component of AS wasn't able to keep up.

Will run the test again with 44k source and advise.

testing shows it's the keyframes?

Just wanted to let y'all know: I imported the .dat from papagayo into THORN, the default character. The lip sync slips in the exact same places. ??????? So, it's like the keyframes are messed up. I have done a visual inspection of the key frames in AS for each phrase and they're fine. Totally in the...

In programs like motion, or AE, you can use the audio level to change the position of a layer (like the lower jaw cut out here).

Is this only possible with a bone in AS?

Mouth Switch Layer Keyframes : Lip Sync falls out of sync

I have a mouth switch layer with, probably, hundreds of keyframes. I have done this with papagayo. The sync slips in playback AND final render at a few points later in the timeline, at about :40 and :50 seconds. It's repeatable. It will catch up with itself, and fail again. The behavior is suggestin...

For my project I want to point out the following: When I play it in the AS timeline it falls out of sync at :40. Then it resync's ok a little later. Then by the end (around :60) it falls out of sync again. In a way it looks like some of the phrasing I've done in papagayo is offset by about 1s. It's ...

only one way to know for sure. Anyone else doing Papagayo->AS6 lip-sync for renders longer than 45 seconds?

I'll do another test, but it take so long...

Man, I dunno. It just seems like it's off-setting groups of keyframes.

I do get all the check boxes. I've only been exporting as QT "animation" codec to make use of the alpha channel. The project is 24 fps, and I'm exporting as such. The result is out of sync. It appears as though AS isn't picking up the timing on certain keyframes on the mouth switch layer. ...

I have an issue where the sync falls out for about 10 seconds, works again, falls out.

Did you ever get this working?

I lose sync after :40 and it picks up a bit at :60, then totally off by about a second again.

Really frustrating!
