Thanks for the input, I've pretty much come to the same conclusion folder - structure wise, though it would be nice if the program was more forgiving. I use a lot of swap files, to have alternate folders of swap files ready to be - ahem- swapped, via a keystroke or dialogue box would be best. I gues...

Content Library

Hi y'all. The worst thing in my opinion about Anime Pro was the library function. If things have been resolved then I might consider the upgrade. - Can you have your files on different physical drives (i.e. an external drive? - When rendering animation, will Anime keep defaulting to rendering into t...

I have found the rendering options of Anime Studio 6 to be flakey. The exception is when I export 'as .PNG'. This I bring into a more robust program (in my case vegas 10) then render as whatever I like. Anime studio is much better as a creative tool, I don't have much faith in it as a render program...

The worst thing about AS is it's weak library functions. You'd think files and file associations would be sorted automatically - nope. You could try saving multiple project 'versions' in the same folder or directory. That way you'd have access to more specialized actions i.e. one version that has al...

I read your post. I tried the QT render, it didn't work nearly as well as the PNG import. Once you render something it's one unit, if you import image files you have 24 images per second which is easier to work with.

'Export to PNG' retains alpha channel - yes!

Hi, I've discovered a great use for 'set export animation to PNG' especially if you're into stop animation. My animation is made up of sequential PNG's which have a invisible (alpha channel) backdrop. I've been rendering off files as .avi, (which crashes the pc regularly) or Quicktime with a blue ba...

Thanks folks. What finally worked was exporting as PNG, then, set up my video editor to import stills at 1/24th sec duration. It works fine although it took a trip to the forums to get my editor to let me choose anything but 1/30th

Rendering with transparent background

Hi all, lately I've been experimenting making 'stop animation' out of frame grabs made from .PNG files, as the PNG files have transparent backgrounds is it possible to render something off in Anime and preserve the transparency? - Right now I render it off with a blue background, import into my vide...

Toonboom's ' import and vectorize' is of limited use. I found Toonboom an awkward and frustrating program, I gave up on it

Adding text OMG!

Hi, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but ASpro freaks out when I add text. I add a vector layer, then choose text, it takes 20 secs for the text box to even appear, if I click on anything before it appears I get a 'program not responding' crash. Do I have to get rid of the bitmaps and other memory ...

Downloads - what is DMG?

Hi, I just purchased an upgrade and I noticed there are two files for download, one is a self-explanatory .exe file, the other is a larger (by at least 25%) .dng file. Not knowing what to do I downloaded both. I'm now faced with the decision of what to do next.
Advice?

Thanks for the response. I think I've figured out a work-around. I render at 'half frame rate' and it seems to be working ok and doesn't effect picture quality (to my eyes anyway) I think it has something to do with file size, I use .PNG files in switch layers and if the PNGs are too big (7meg +) th...

Render = Crash city in Win 7 64bit

Anyone else having stability issues when rendering animation? ASPro6 crashes repeatedly when rendering .avi files. I'm in the process of migrating from my woeful Vista 32bit system to a Win 7 64bit system which works great with my Vegas video editor (64 bit), but Anime Studio Pro crashes at the slig...
