whatever the approach, with fbf you're going to end up with the electronic equivalent of a truck-load of cels. A min of 12 (assuming you're on 2s) and max - well ... "huge" - per second. Re-use by such as looping cuts that down of course in the longer runs. Bigger-than-output-area stills f...

what about ... (idea based on the technique shamelessly ripped from Richard William's ASK - see p46 et seq of the first edition in the chapter that RW calls "Advancing Backwards to 1940" :D ). On your sketchpad. > design your layout > sketch your Keys > plan to segement the artwork into pa...

hi Larry - the key here, I think, is the "do not premultiply". this will keep the bg colour out of the render where you have drawn stuff with alpha < 100%. thanks for your comment on the planet. It was drawn in photoshop: multi-layer (from the bottom) water; land; forest; desert; ice caps;...

Hi Larry. -- did you use the "do not premultiply" option for rendering? -- any soft edge options on the shape? -- does the "fringe" change colour if you use a different bg colour (e.g. try primary red - does the fringe turn red?). I've just run a quick and dirty tryout http://www...

if you're explaining a "big concept" to someone who is familiar with it (such as draw a stick man and then do a walk cycle) that's all you need to say. But if you now break that down into the "next level" it might be draw the man ... add a bone layer ... and so on. Then next leve...

Hi Gilles the thing about a video is that is runs at the pace of the presenter not at the pace of the learner. Ok, there are pause and rewind buttons but ... I'm firmly in favour of material that works at the pace and depth of knowledge of the learner. This means, for example, videos that show basic...

Thanks a lot - I hadn't found that ref... so much info - a blessing and a problem at the same time. I'll give it a go. But in the meantime, another question comes to mind - If I'm trapping these keystrokes, does this mean that if (say) I trap an "S" key that this will override the S as Sca...

Hi All, thanks for your encouraging and positive replies. WIP on this set is going in this direction: number of points is configurable (menu bar entry option) - "round edged" square is being ditched and replaced by circle segment (quadrant / semi circ or anything less than a full 360 circl...

Hi, sorry to be a pain - but when the line here is bent, it looks as though it is actually longer than when it was straight?? :? The total length of the two bones is the same as the length of the line when it's straight, but when the line bends it (nearly) forms an arc of a circle with the bones as ...
