Re: Big really hard project looming - planning?

Regarding the spreadsheet described earlier. I like to use Google Sheets. It's easy to access from almost anywhere, plus it's free. I used to use a Libre Office document on my Dropbox, which works great with a desktop and laptop, but it's harder to work with when you're using an iPad or iPhone. When...

Re: Big really hard project looming - planning?

One more tip: If you decide to go the other way and add the music score after you've animated the film, you may want to include handles around your scenes. This gives you a little flexibility when cutting the scenes to the music, and it may save you from going back to re-animate/re-render the footag...

Re: Big really hard project looming - planning?

Oh, remember my description of the 'scratch' track earlier? This can apply to music too, not just dialog. It's not unusual for an animatic to have a temporary score that is musically similar to what you intend to use in the final edit. The track serves not only as a guide for timing but it can help ...

Re: Big really hard project looming - planning?

It depends on how tightly you wish to choreograph the animation to the music and sound design. To me, it's all the same thing. In recent years, I really enjoy animating and editing footage to the beat of the score. I don't mean I obsessively time every event to the music track but just enough so tha...

Re: Big really hard project looming - planning?

Storyboard is a necessary start, and the next step is to cut an animatic. Basically, you need place each storyboard image on the timeline of a video editing program like Vegas, Premiere or whatever, and add an audio track. You don't need final audio, you can use a scratch track, which is just tempor...

Re: FBF and bitmaps

If you're using bitmap layers in Moho 12, be sure to learn about creating custom mesh layers and using Smart Mesh. This allows you to apply Smart Bone techniques you might normally associate with vector layers. I agree with Wes about Moho 13's bitmap tools to edit and animate for FBF. The current to...

Re: Timeline and keyframes

Oh, yeah, normally you want that option switched off. I think it's on by default to 'assist' beginners but I've never understood the logic behind that. To me, it's better to create a 'hold' keyframe only when you actually want one. I only enable this option in rare situations. Also, if you haven't a...

Re: Bone Head

For me, I normally only want a single bone to affect the head layer (unless I actually want the head deformed with multiple bones) so I like to use Layer binding on the head layers. This is a rigid binding method so none of the other bones will deform the contents of those layers. I like Layer bindi...

Animaker: MQC For Moho Pro

Introducing MQC or Moho Quick Click, a floating button panel featuring many commonly used commands for Moho Pro 12 and 13. 384201389 I created MQC to make Moho quicker to use on my Wacom tablet but it works well on a regular desktop computer with a mouse and keyboard too. This video shows you how to...

Can you be more specific? What kinks to you mean and in what situation?

As far as I know, the Switch group is working correctly but I'll be happy to pass on any bugs you discover to the devs.

Re: Scripts fail after Win10 upgrade

For the most part, I've had good luck with scripts using Moho 13 and Windows 10. The only Lua script error that's popped up for me in Moho 13 was with Layer Shortcuts, but that's unrelated to your problem and Wes gave me a working temporary solution by disabling section of the script. Apart from tha...

Re: Z position auto resize question.

This reminds me, I also wish Moho supported multiple cameras and the option for orthographic view. If we can't have full interactivity or options for it, having at least a mode for orthographic view would help here a lot.

Re: Z position auto resize question.

I agree about the lack of precise data feedback, I wish Moho's was more responsive there. I'm guessing Moho suspends the numerical update to ensure maximum interactivity in the Workspace but in cases like this, users should have the option to prioritize what's interactive. The best I can suggest is ...
