Re: Spencer-Hill Cartoon Show vol 1.

It was snappy, and I liked the visual style, but it seems dialogue-driven and I couldn't understand a word, so around 40% of the content was lost on me...

Re: Yer basic vector importing

The best vectoriser I've used is Vector Magic . Obviously not all bitmap art will be suitable for vectorising, but if it's fairly 'graphic' (flat colours, bold shapes), then it works well. Unfortunately it's either an expensive desktop application, or (ptui!) a subscription service. I think you get ...

Victor Paredes did some great quadruped rigs a while back -- try searching the forum.

Re: white line

You need to register on a photo-sharing site (I use imgur.com). It's really easy to upload images to them, and they give you some code which you can post here so that anyone can see them.

Re: Creating transparency background in Moho 12

On the face of it, this is a simple answer - transparent backgrounds are the default in Moho. All you have to do is ensure that you choose an output format which has an alpha component (like GIF or a 32-bit PNG sequence, for example). It's better to output a picture sequence and then composite it in...

I think the M K refers to Mike Kelley, who hosts Animators Forum. You could try there...

Re: question about 3D object shading

I don't use .obj import much, but I'm pretty sure you're right about light sources -- they have to be "baked in" to the 3D geometry before the files are imported into Moho.

Re: Big really hard project looming - planning?

Something I stumbled on a short while ago is Crocotile 3D , a tile program which works in 3D. Being a bear of little brain when it comes to 3D programs, I saw straight away that it was an app I could use. It's not free, but it's cheap ($20) and you can try before you buy...ish (you can't save any sc...

Re: Character artist getting started

Thanks all. I'm surprised and I know she would be quite dismayed to hear she doesn't have an understanding of anatomy. She's been going to life drawing for years, and as a teacher, she's been trying to drill understanding of anatomy into her students every day. So I think I'll not tell her anyone s...

Re: Character artist getting started

Here's my two pennies. Firstly, if there are evening classes in life drawing in Seattle, I would enrol her in one. (I'd be amazed if there weren't any). I took a look at her portfolio, and it's ok, but it lacks any real understanding of anatomy, and the best way to learn is to study the human body. ...

Fantastic. The talking portrait is almost "uncanny valley"! And the animated engraving is really well done.
