Re: Frame 0 and the Sequencer

I agree with Hoptoad. It's best to offset the start frame so you can see your 'sub-zero' animation. I suggest starting the animation at frame 101, though. This makes it easier to count frames and to sync the frames to an animatic and edit. Not only is this good for working with Sequencer, but it's ...

Re: Frame 0 and the Sequencer

I don't like moving things backward with the sequencer either. This is what I do. At some point I'll have the various animated animated elements doing their thing in the workspace, let's say on frame 48. Once that has been taken care of, I make the animation start on frame 48. The thing I don't und...

Frame 0 and the Sequencer

One thing that's always mystified me about Moho is how the Sequencer works. Mainly, why, it leaves frame 0 visible when moving a layer forward (to make it start play at a different frame). When I use the sequencer to move a layer's Start Time forward, I always find having to deal with a "frozen...

Re: How can I "release" a Frame by frame layer?

Just a thought: Can you use the Bind Layer tool to bind the FBF to an unparented bone? If it needs to move with the rig, use Bind Layer to bind the FBF to the appropriate bone in the skeleton. Anything bound using the Bind Layer tool will be excluded from being affected by other bones. Very good th...

How can I "release" a Frame by frame layer?

I have a very simple rig, a bone layer with just three vector layers. I added a Frame by frame layer to the rig (mouth positions) and drew the first frame. But the FbF layer floats around, evidently influenced by one or more bones of the rig. I am used to this behaviour with simple vector layers, an...

Re: Create cycles without the keyframing box popping up?

Yes, they are docked to the timeline, but when you choose "cycle" from the drop-down menu on the timeline, it will still open the options box. Which to me is counterintuitive because it implies one is going to tweak every cycle. Except for cycles I need to start from a specific frame or c...

It has a slightly different approach to adding Cycles, but equally has no pop-up.

You can add a shortcut via Keyboard Shortcuts.
Yes, this looks very much like what I'm aiming at. Thanks!

Re: Create cycles without the keyframing box popping up?

I just have the Keyframe details window docked to the timeline, but I have a pretty large monitor so I still have plenty of room. There is a button for that in the timeline window when your going to use it just click it on and when done click it off (not sure if there is a command for it though) Ye...

Re: Create cycles without the keyframing box popping up?

Any of the modes with the ellipsis in its name will open a window. What I do is I move the window off to the side and close it, and Moho will remember its position so it's out of the way then next time I invoke it. Is it not remembering the window position on your system? Ah, I hadn't noticed it re...

Create cycles without the keyframing box popping up?

I found the shortcut to create cycles (ctrl or cmd 9). Regardless of that, the keyframing-cycling window always appears, usually in front of whatever I'm drawing or animating. I have to either move it or close it... till the next cycle. Since most of the time the default cycle is all I need (anyway,...

Re: No "Select All" keyboard shortcut for Select Shapes tool?

Aa, now I get it. So, what I'm seeing on screen when I select with Q-Select Shape tool is actually point selection, even though the points are not visible (because the layer is displaying shapes). Yep. What still puzzles me is that selecting with one tool or the other, and then switching tool does ...

Re: No "Select All" keyboard shortcut for Select Shapes tool?

. . .This post is actually just me wondering why the universal "select all" keyboard shortcut, which works in two different ways with the Points tool and the Bones tool doesn't do the same trick with the Select Shapes tool. You know, that's a good question. I can't imagine why it would be...

Re: No "Select All" keyboard shortcut for Select Shapes tool?

I might be getting something wrong, but right now the select all keyboard shortcut looks like it works in relation to the tool being currently used. In fact, if I'm using Add Points (A) tool, ctr-A will select all points. If I'm using bones, it'll select all bones. So, why shouldn't it select all s...

Re: No "Select All" keyboard shortcut for Select Shapes tool?

I remember back when I had to install a script to select all the shapes on a layer, so the Select All button still feels super convenient to me. Generally, if I suspect that I may need to select 100 green leafs on a layer, for example, I will create a Style and call it "leaf" and use it w...
