Camera tips?

I'm really extraordinarily crummy at animating camera movement. I understand how the tools work, it's just that I can never get anything to look decent unless it's very simple. Camera movement is really hard to get right, as it turns out. I'm hoping people can maybe pass along some tips and tricks t...

Re: Audio output

Yeah, I know I didn't, my fault there. Anyway. I don't know what's going on, learning to live with it, adding to the long list of frustrating things about Moho that will probably never get fixed. But hey! In version umpteen.2 we now support using DFQ blocks when importing GHX twiddles from your BBZ ...

This is Windows 10. You made an OSist distinction. You OSist.

Audio output

When I'm working in Moho untethered from my home studio, the project's audio goes out the Surface speakers as it should. However, if I plug it into my Surface Dock, which sends all output to the dock (and subsequently to my receiver) the audio doesn't re-route, and still goes out the speakers. Then ...

Re: Timeline consolidation

I had the exact same issue yesterday, and thought that sliding layers in the sequencer would solve it. (I was trying to add a quick title to an-already made animation) Nope. That first frame lingers and is stubborn. Couldn't figure it out. Tried deleting that first frame, editing it, etc. Ended up ...

Re: Timeline consolidation

As long as what you want to move is in a single layer (group), this can be done in the Sequencer tab of the timeline. If you've never used this before, you should train on a different project first. (And make a copy for security anyway.) Ah, yes ok that might do the trick. However, I have all layer...

Timeline consolidation

I built an animation for work, and it's finished and put away. But now I've decided I want to do a new expanded version of it which has a little more to it and also will also be married to a soundtrack, a piece I produced years ago. Now I need to move events around in the movie to sync with this mus...

Re: Character artist getting started

Hi again all, and thanks again for all the feedback. She is expressing interest in the Vancouver Film School, which is apparently a highly regarded place for people getting an education to get them actual animation jobs. But I don't know anything about this. Has anyone ever heard of the Vancouver Fi...

Not everything respects bones

This is probably something simple. I have a character of about 5 layers. I put the layers into a bone group, add a bone, but manipulating the bone only affects three of the five layers in the group. I've tried a hundred things to fix this, but not the one thing that will actually fix it. So frustrat...

In the Add poins tool options, activate the Icon for Show Bezier Handles and Fixed Bezier Handles.
Then you can add any amount of points without distorting the shape.
I've discovered this to be true but I have to ctrl-click to add the points as well as enabling the Bezier options.

Add point to circle

I want to create a circle with a quarter of it gone. I mean to add points to the existing circle and then hid a segment between two points. But adding a point to a circle warps the circle. How do I simply add points to a circle without distorting it?

Re: Layers not rendering

Yeah, that was the problem. The masking was more complex than I needed. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Layers not rendering

I have a group layer which contains two groups each with a mask and a switch layer. When playing the video in Moho they are rendering, but when exporting animation they do not render. I also did a Ctrl-R Preview of a frame where they should be and they are missing from there as well. Looked in every...

Re: Character artist getting started

Thanks all. I'm surprised and I know she would be quite dismayed to hear she doesn't have an understanding of anatomy. She's been going to life drawing for years, and as a teacher, she's been trying to drill understanding of anatomy into her students every day. So I think I'll not tell her anyone sa...

Re: Big really hard project looming - planning?

Thanks for the input. I've done a little 3D building in Moho, and I think for a simple set like this it shouldn't be too bad. Since I'm a one-man operation, adding a 3D animation program would increase the already steep learning curve, not to mention dollar$$. And once it's built, it's done. And yea...
