The manual that came with AS5 was actually an HTML file, not a PDF or printed manual. I'm not sure if you can still download AS5, but if so the manual came with it.

This seems to me like it would a billion times easier to do in either a video editing or compositing program. Maybe I'm not understanding, but to try and incorporate live video into AS seems like way more trouble than it's worth.

The manual is in the same file as the Tutorials. It's not a hard copy, but it's there.

And in fact that manual IS for the Pro version because it references many features not in the basic version.

Sound worked fine for me, and that was amazing! I've been watching this project since its ealiest days and it amazes me how good it came out!

Couldn't you simply flip the layers in the animation? That way the character would face and walk in the opposite direction.

I agree. The one thing watching those videos taught me is I need to learn the keyboard shortcuts cuz that guy flew through different tools with no problem. But without commentary I don't know how he/she did it, and the drawing tips were pretty well useless without commentary and with so much focus o...

Spike is normally something a teenager would be called, but that could actually make it funnier as a 30 year old. That could work.

This is true. I had originally used Flash to draw but was having difficulty importing them into AS. I despised AS's tools because they were so unlike Flash. I also was missing a few shortcuts that made it frustrating to try and draw the way I was accustomed to (not cheking the AutoFill and AutoClose...

To be fair, it took an ETERNITY to import images I exported from Flash. Several times it even crashed the program. The only way I could was to import them to AI, re-export them, THEN import them to AS. The long and short of it: just use AS to draw. It's a bit of a learning curve but the drawing tool...

When I tested using AI export 6 and 8 they both loaded instantly as well.

The extra points will really only make a difference in SWF export, I believe, but I'm certainly no expert (export expert? )

I just noticed that you can import an image to serve as a color pallette - how COOL! Very "eyedropper" like. This software rocks! I've been rather successfuly toying around with the drawing toold and LOVE this program! Thanks for encouraging me, heyvern. This program is very easy. One thing I've not...

Argh! Don't back down. Go with what you feel is best. If someone is going to be offended for something they perceive, let them. The stupid deserve to be offended.

You can bring in an audio file to use as the soundtrack, but it has to be already produced. In other words, you can't mix and match sound effects and music within AS, you need an external audio program.
