Whew! Well that's a relief. Hey, if you can get around naming conventions with a constraint menu, that's more than I could hope for. Can't wait to see this consolidation. Keep up the good work.

So, if I understand you, tool and menu scripts create content while only layer scripts can modify ( after the fact)? Well if you can still consolidate your layer scripts that would be helpful. If you only have to embed one script that covers all of your scripts, then you wouldn't have to pick and ch...

Ah, I see now. I took that 'problem', and used it to test my assumption that parenting is handled something like bone locking. Using only bones 1&2 parented like you said, I constrained bone 2 to the position of bone 1. Then I locked bone 2. Now when I drag bone 1 I get something like your 'wrong wa...

There is ANOTHER even more annoying problem with constraints. If you have an unparented bone that is the target and the constrained bone has a parent a translation constraint goes THE WRONG WAY. Because the bone is parented it's x and y seem to get "reversed". I'm trying to duplicate this to help m...

So parenting isn't so much a translation-like constraint as it is a sort of 'lock to parent'? And a child has no absolute positional values that can be passed on, only the unchanging relative value to its parent? And how does rotation differ? Is it that the relative change from pivot to tip is all i...

Is there a script that can do this?

Okay, this could also be a feature request, but I figured I'd start here. I've been studying the bone constraints and parenting, and it seems a bit unbalanced. What I've noticed is this: Translate- a translated parent translates its child equally - position constraint only works from a manually tran...

While I'm thinking about it, is the only way to include an image layer to zip it up with the .anme file?

Thanks Vern, mine works fine. I'll try again. If not I'll just copy your link. And yeah, I meant to give you credit Genete. That's by no means my discovery. I figured the heavy scripting folks would just ignore it. Like I said, non-Pro users may find some of those rigs useful. Not to mention myself,...

Parenting cross-constraint example

I made this up for my own reference, but maybe someone else could find it helpful. These are examples of using bone parenting to make one constraint input (translate, rotate,or scale) output to a different constraint of another bone. I think these will help minimize control points on a rig. Another b...

I may have the wrong version of Fazek's utility. I'll mess with it later. I'm trying to sacrifice know for doing at this point.

copy/paste shapes?

Is there any way to copy and paste shapes? Is the only option to copy/paste the points and recreate the fill?

Yeah, I was just being dense. I've installed Fazek's tools, but now I'm having a problem with the tools panel not responding. Seems to have something to do with switching tools.

Translate points auto-weld quit working

Okay, I've got a pretty point heavy face. I've been vector tracing it using add point and translate point tools(standard ASP install), toggling the auto-weld of both often. I'm almost done and then the translate points auto-weld quits working. I can add more points and they auto-weld fine, and new p...

I was just wondering if a script could be made that would create a multilayer bone. Create it on one bone layer and have it appear on all nested bone layers. Then this 'one' bone could be controlled from any of its layers. Just a thought.
