It could easily be due to the colour profiles but HERE is an apparently working workaround.

Artboards tool works similar to crop tool and it is available in CS6. Say you have a background, chair and a character in the scene. There`s also a way to trick AI to export .ai ver8 files - use artboards as layers and then use Save As... / Use Artboards... etc. routine to get individual files. Eventual overlapping could still occur but that could be easily avoided by some additional planning - still, as animators we are not estr...

When I hear "logo" I presume it is something graphical and looking close to the stamp. If so, is it not the easiest way to provide an exported svg?
It largely depends on what kind of deal you`ve made with those guys but vector/svg file would be the best solution for printing.

To me, it looks like a perfect way of depicting birdseye view character`s tracking/following over some map or some closeup (tailoring or cutting some fabrics). Either way, some sort of extreme POV.

Q#1 - They do.
Q#2 - I`d go for a manual approach on characters but would look out for an automated one on shapes, motion graphics etc.
