Cartoonize a real image

I'm sure I found a tutorial like this on youtube but I can't seem to find it any more. Can someone tell me how to turn a picture of something real into a cartoon like drawing in Anime Studio?

Intercutting Shots

I am planning an animation which is basically a back and forth interview between two different characters. How do I cut back and forth between the two scenes? Is this where onion skins come in? If so then how? Or should I use switch layers?

6Teen is done with something called Harmony made by ToonBoom. Not sure about Rushzone: Guardians of the Core, though.
