Re: Paths 'disappear' when Select Shape is chosen

Okay, now I see why this feature has been bugging me only recently. A couple of weeks ago I started using the DKWRoot Tools, and when Auto Hide Curves is switched on, it disables with the display of points when the tool is active and makes it difficult to see where to use the Erase Points tools. Now...

Re: Paths 'disappear' when Select Shape is chosen

Thanks for the explanation and solution guys! The Auto-Hide Curves behavior was a little disturbing to see at first because I thought it was an OpenGL or video driver bug, but when I noticed that it only happens with Select Shape, I thought it might possibly be intentional behavior. Glad to learn th...

Paths 'disappear' when Select Shape is chosen

Is anybody else seeing this behavior? In 10.1.1 (and earlier I think,) when I choose the Select Path tool, any unstroked paths will disappear from the viewport, even when the Path option is enabled in the Display Quality panel. In 9.5, the paths remain visible when Select Path is chosen. Just to be ...

Re: Strokes on lines

When you're creating an open path using the Add Points tool, you need to create the stroke shape (the visible 'line') manually. Select the path using the Create Shape tool, then press Space Bar. Also, normally, you need to be on frame zero to be able to do this. (You can override this behavior but i...

Re: DKWROOT scripts (FBF + BONE GROUPS + MORE!)

After watching the installation video, be sure to read my post from last week: http://www.lostmarble.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=26221&start=30#p149967 It's followed by a few more posts regarding installation. In a nutshell: Under normal circumstances, you'll want to install part of the package t...

Re: DKWROOT scripts (FBF + BONE GROUPS + MORE!)

I think there's an error in the DTools video: the video states that pressing 's' toggles between the Brush and Pen tools. The hot key is actually shift-s. (Pressing only 's' selects the Draw Shape tool.) At least this is how it's working on my laptop. G. This isn't an error, you just need to clear ...

Re: Rigs for Each Principal Angle or One Rig for all Angles?

I haven't done a ton of work in ASP yet but for 'survey' purposes, here's my experience so far. 'Scareplane' was my first ASP short film and when we started that project, I really didn't know what I was doing and I essentially made up the rigs as I went along. The film had been designed as a learnin...

Re: DKWROOT scripts (FBF + BONE GROUPS + MORE!)

Here's a tip: I like to keep backup copies of my default resource directories and my modified resource directories. This way, if I mess something up or if a newly added script doesn't do what I expected, I can easily revert ASP to its former 'good' state.

Re: DKWROOT scripts (FBF + BONE GROUPS + MORE!)

That's very odd. Hope this doesn't sound too obvious but I have to ask: did you install the icons to the proper ScriptResources folder for the version of ASP you're using, that is, x64 vs. x32? If you had copied the icons to the folder for the x32 version of ASP, they won't appear in the x64 version...

Re: DKWROOT scripts (FBF + BONE GROUPS + MORE!)

I did everything that was in the instruction video to get the DTools thing working. I have ASP 10 but no succes, I do not see the new drawing tools. Any help? Maybe you're running into the same confusion I ran into when I installed the scripts. In the first part of the install video, the user is in...

Re: Frame by Frame animation?

That's kinda how I feel. Even though there exist more suitable programs for doing FBF, I want to avoid drawing character art outside of ASP because I want to be able to use the same Styles I've created in ASP for consistency. I'm sure I can come up with a workflow to work around this issue but it's ...

Re: Frame by Frame animation?

I used Anime Studio to do a couple FBF animations in our short film Scareplane earlier this year. It can be done but it's not easy because the current drawing tools don't lend themselves for it. (To be fair, they're really not mean to.) One example is when Sergeant tumbles backwards out of the capta...
