Re: Multi-select mod for SelectShape tool (Requires CP Produ

Um, disregard my disregard. I really need that switch to work with the Select Shape tool, not Create Shape. Oh, well. :p

I did find the info on the shortcuts though...I guess I hadn't looked far enough down that list in the manual.

Re: Multi-select mod for SelectShape tool (Requires CP Produ

Oh, disregard that last post...I see now that 10.1 actually does that but I have to be on the Create Shape tool to do the switch, not the Select Shape tool. Nevermind. :)

Re: Multi-select mod for SelectShape tool (Requires CP Produ

Oh, I just realized what else I'm missing from the mod: the ability to convert from shape to point selection and back again. It's really useful when a shape is being occluded by another shape. I know that probably sounds like an odd thing to want but I'm running into that right now. (It was also som...

Re: Multi-select mod for SelectShape tool (Requires CP Produ

Arrow keys...imagine that. For some reason I thought the normal arrow keys were already assigned to something else. I also see that Shift-Up and Shift-Down are equivalents for Raise to Top and Lower to Bottom. Cool beans! I just re-read your post about how to propagate a style to selections and trie...

Re: Multi-select mod for SelectShape tool (Requires CP Produ

synthsin75,

Cool! Thanks for the info. I can't wait to check this out when I get home tonight. It may not be everything I miss about the mod but what you described is a lot more native functionality in 10.1 than I thought I had. :D

Re: Multi-select mod for SelectShape tool (Requires CP Produ

Just took another look at the section on the shape stacking order commands in the manual. It only mentions the same four basic commands we had in 9.5 (Raise, Lower, Raise to Front, Raise to Back.) That's okay for simple layers but it's really quite tedious to use in comparison to how this mod worked...

Re: Multi-select mod for SelectShape tool (Requires CP Produ

AS10.1 supports selecting and editing multiple shapes natively, including shape order. Does it allow you to arbitrarily shift selected shapes to any position in the stacking order in a layer? If so, I must have missed that in the docs. Is it a key command? If it's something as simple as (modifier k...

Re: Multi-select mod for SelectShape tool (Requires CP Produ

Hi, I held off installing the multi-select mod in ASP 10 until I felt fully comfortable about working in the upgrade but I finally got around to installing the script this morning. Unfortunately I keep getting errors. I have the required extended library installed and the multi-select script for ASP...

Re: PNG Image to Vector Layer

Alternatively, you might consider auto-tracing in Adobe Illustrator and importing an AI file. AI might possibly do a more accurate job at this sort of thing. The catch is, ASP will interpret the point placement of the shape differently. That's probably not important for most cases but it's something...

Re: Adding files to a bone layer

Thanks! That could be it...I'll check it out. Edit: Yeah, Auto Center is enabled. TBH, I wasn't even aware of this feature until you pointed it out. I see how it can be useful sometimes but with my work habits, it seems to cause problems. I'll try working with it disabled for a while to see if this ...

Re: Adding files to a bone layer

This probably isn't related but occasionally I find ASP creates layers in seemingly arbitrary positions that's off from the expected default position. (It's probably not arbitrary but I have yet to figure out what causes this.) Anyway, the offset will make it appear that shapes are moving from their...

Re: Motivation?

I did this way back in 2005. It was the first short film Alisa and I made together and it's a good example of how a storyboard functions as the blueprint for getting a project finished. sO1E36vq9Ck In the upper left, you can see the animatic, which is basically the storyboard edited on a timeline. Re: Motivation?

What do you guys usually do for motivation? Like to make you want to animate? Preproduction! . I avoid animation until after I get my storyboards drawn and an animatic cut with a temp track. Design is also part of preproduction but that can also continue to develop during production. Every successf...

Re: Target Constraint: How how do you change direction of IK

I just now applied to the technique to a final rigged character and the 'switch' in the knee IK works perfectly!

Thanks again for the tips! Now Alisa and I can animate and frame our scenes the way we boarded it. :D
