Re: How do I export and import layers into a new workspace?

Use Copy Layer/Paste Layer at the parent group level. This is a different set of commands from Copy/Paste, and it can be used to copy the entire contents of a selected group layer. If you have two projects open at the same time, you can use Copy Layer/Paste Layer to copy the group to the second proj...

Re: Searching for a hand shake tutorial.

Oh, here's addition to my original suggestion: set your hand bones to use Independent Rotation. This way, both hands will stay in the same fixed angle and not have mismatched rotations when they join and shake. For the Developers: In the future, can Independent Rotation be made into a keyframeable p...

Re: Searching for a hand shake tutorial.

No problem.

For FBF, I agree with Wes: study footage of people shaking hands. I looked over on YouTube and was amused by how many ‘how to shake hands’ videos exist there. 😸

Re: Searching for a hand shake tutorial.

Here's a simple rig example for making hands shake. It's technically what I described in the previous post: In the above image, we have bone setups for a green arm, a red arm, and the target bones. These setups exist in the same bone layer. When the hands come together at frame 27, the wrists are ke...

Re: Searching for a hand shake tutorial.

I had to do something like that for All Hail King Julien a few years ago. You can see it on my 2017 demo reel where Thighsander Plunderhorse and Norge Grendelfist join hands and take off running. To make this work, I merged the skeletons under a single bone layer and used a shared target bone for th...

Re: Vector distortion because of bones rotation

A couple more tips: When using Smart Bone Actions, set a key at frame 1 that is a copy of frame zero, and set this key to Linear. Do this for everything within the SBA. This insure that you have linear motion through the rig which can otherwise get weird. (including some cases of deformation.) Linea...

Re: Vector distortion because of bones rotation

It's hard to tell from your images and description exactly what's going on in your rig but I can offer some suggestions: 1. Avoid using Bezier points in a deforming rig. Bezier points make it easier to achieve certain shapes but they don't interpolate nearly as well as Standard Moho points. If you d...

Re: Moho Pro 12 getting slow on much polygons?

That's cool. And, I agree, even if what you have is a single continuous shot, sometimes it makes sense to break out parts into multiple segments and edit or comp it together in post. The HLF titles animation on my vimeo channel has a good Moho example in the shot that travels from a street view with...

Re: Moho Pro 12 getting slow on much polygons?

It sounds like you're using Moho primarily as a frame-by-frame program. Unfortunately, even though Moho has FBF capabilities, this type of animation is not one of its strengths. The main reason to use Moho is for its powerful puppet rigging and puppet animation tools. I've used Moho's FBF tools to c...

Re: Importing AI file to ASP does not work

I cannot import Adobe Illustrator (CC) file to Anime Studio Pro 11. It transfers just some anchor points, but not all layers. I tried to change AI version 3,5, 8 and also reduce points in AI file - all does not work. I figured out to import PSD (Photoshop) file to ASP, however it imports all layers...

Good catch SimpleSam! Thanks for sharing this tip.

I guess I was getting different results depending on whether I entered the site using an old bookmark or from an email link.

Re: Free transform tool

Yeah, I can confirm Free Transform works in Moho 12 for me too, and I assume it should in 11. (Sorry, I don't have 11 installed here to check.) How are you installing the script? Ideally, it should go inside the scripts/tool folder inside your Custom Content folder. Be careful not to install it in t...

Re: Bones change length when rotated

Hi Shift, Let's keep this simple and first go for the obvious: Select the bones layer and then click the Rotate Layer XY tool. Are the values in Tool Options 0,0? From your description, my guess is that there is some rotation in the Y axis. But if either box has anything other than 0, click Reset. N...
