Re: MediBang Paint - interesting free comic drawing software
Do you use MediBang and Alpaca with Moho? If so, please tell us about it. Not yet, past a few basic tests, but I intend to do more. From my brief testing, Moho imports FireAlpaca layered PSDs without any problems. Personally, I've also found Clip Studio Paint too feature-rich for some hobbyist cart...

Re: Help me troubleshoot, please
No great expertise myself, but something I've seen mentioned a few times in the forum: Edit menu, Preferences, General tab, untick Enable GPU - I know it seems counter-intuitive to take out hardware acceleration, but it often helps (the CPU often performs Moho functionality faster than the GPU). Mig...

Re: MediBang Paint - interesting free comic drawing software
More recent post about the differences (between FireAlpaca and MediBang Paint), with links to more information about some features. 3D perspective layers in FireAlpaca are an interesting approach. FireAlpaca and MediBang Paint can produce layered PSDs for image-based cutout/deformation animation in...

Re: Unable To Use Library
As Wes said, not an OS function, it is a Moho function, nothing to do with OS libraries and custom locations.
In Moho: Edit menu, Preferences, General tab, Custom Content Folder. Set it to a location where you have write access (e.g. a subfolder in Documents).

Re: How do I change the size of a frame that I printed?
You may need to change which DPI (dots per inch) setting the printer uses in either: the program you are using to print the image, or (less likely) in the printer settings when you print the image. The number of tiny ink dots that your printer can spray across every inch of paper is often much highe...

Re: voices
Audacity is a good choice for changes to an existing recording. For on-the-fly changes (the software changes your voice as you speak, and acts like a sound source/microphone for your recording software), maybe MophVox Junior, the cut-down free version of the paid program: http://screamingbee.com/Pro...

If it is the 12 Debut version, it has an export limit of 900x900 pixels, according to page 12 of this document: http://my.smithmicro.com/docs/moho/MohoCompleteFeatureComparisonList.pdf Both Debut and Pro versions are available at (reduced) student prices: http://my.smithmicro.com/smith-micro-educati...

Re: isolating body parts from drawings with gimp
If you don't ask, you don't learn (or learn a lot slower). Moho does image-based animation really well, it is one of its strengths in my opinion. Use File menu, Import, Image, or drag images onto the working area. Images are layers (well, one type of layer - with image content instead of vector cont...

Re: making your cartoon talk
Switch layers should work well in the Debut version of Moho 12. Switch layers are like a Group (or, in Debut, Bone) layer that only shows one sub-layer at a time, commonly used for different mouth shapes. Please see the tutorial Victor posted. It starts with a very simple technique using sound volum...

Re: How to Fade In / Fade Out Text
Steven, I may have been somewhat misleading, by trying to cram everything into one screenshot. As slowtiger implies, normally you would have a longer gap between 0 and 100% opacity, or 100 and 0, to give time to see it. Remember, you probably have about 25 or 30 frames per second, so you probably ne...

Re: How to Fade In / Fade Out Text
In your text layer settings (double-click on the layer in the Layers window), General tab, tick Allow animated layer effects. You will need 4 keyframes ... no, wait, 5 counting frame 0. For each keyframe, put the time marker to the correct frame in the timeline, open up the layer settings for your t...

Thanks - it is always good to learn something new (or old, in this case ).synthsin75 wrote:Legacy Curves has nothing to do with beziers. Legacy Curves were the curve definition used in, I think, pre-v7 or so ASP. And classic point editing just changes keyboard shortcuts for things like deselect, etc..

Re: Moho12, freehand drawing issues
Doesn't Ctrl+P ( Draw > Peak , probably Cmmd+P on a Mac) and Ctrl+M ( Draw > sMooth ) plus the Curvature tool give you something similar to pre-12 curve behaviour? (You can still turn on/off display of the Bezier handles in Pro, but they are not necessary) I see (in Pro) Edit > Preferences has the o...

Re: Art from other software vs. native Moho
As in most topics, I do not think there is a "best", there is a trade-off of benefits and features. Drawing in Moho can give you better control over point placement and a better understanding of how vectors are controlled during animation. The improved freehand drawing tools give better li...

Re: stop animation playing
I don't know if there is a way to lock the timeline, but you could alternatively: Hold the right-mouse button (or pen button equivalent) to pan (move the screen). or Set another keyboard shortcut for Pan e.g. V, so you hold down V instead of the Spacebar. (If you hold rather than tap it will act sim...
