Re: Bone Dynamics Test for Hair (first try) & Walk Cycle
The hair seems to be reacting well enough. I stopped using bone dynamics for hair - I couldn't maintain control of it. I wound up using smart bones and actions instead. It's not automatic, but it works great. Nicely done!

Re: Flying circus - teaser
This is what makes good animation. It's watching something so well done and so effortless it feels like it spontaneously sprang into life. Those aren't cartoon characters drawn by someone, they are real creatures in another universe and you just took out your magic camera and filmed them. :) Agreed...

Re: Ahoyager: The Saggy Truth
That was cool! I am a big fan of Starship Voyager. Animation and effects were nicely done!
Btw, your tutorials were very handy for my own recent project. Concise and professionally done. Helped me out a lot as I was tapping them on-the-fly. Just wanted to say thanks!

Re: Selling rigs/characters - Question
I was thinking of doing the same thing myself. I learned a lot from that Dracula Jr. model and the thanksgiving turkey one. Thought it would be fun to do a few as well. The nice thing about those items and others is that they are fairly generic while having a certain amount of character. Can't see a...

Re: First full animation project in AS...
The result of a mere two weeks work is phenomenal. :D I stopped it at various points to study it. There is a ton of stuff to learn that will make any animator's work improve. The clip I just posted on YouTube took at least a month and it is only one character. Thanks for posting. I am flattered tha...

Re: 2nd attempt at frame by frame!
That was really excellent! What software did you use? I have not tried to do frame by frame animation in AS but I understand that it is, in fact, quite possible.

Re: First full animation project in AS...
Really good result for such a short time. Since you're a designer it's no wonder I liked the designs best - the coloured lines on the characters, and the really excellent background style. I especially like the use of textures on the BGs - how did you do these? The animation needs to be much more s...

Several tests in one! http://youtu.be/DfFzkh57En8 Testing the following: - Masking of the eyes and mouth - Physics on the hair and nose - Flipping the image using anticipation, secondary motion and timing instead of literally animating a head turn - Bones on eyebrows - General use of tapering lines ...

Re: First full animation project in AS...
You did a great job. Thank you! The final result is excellent. To do it in the time you did and while learning the software is a major achievement I think. Great job! :D Thank you - we worked day and night, and on weekends to get it done. Crammed in plenty of hours. We are all graphic designers and...

First full animation project in AS...
I have puttered around a bit in Anime Studio, mostly doing character designs because I like the tapering line control it offers, but I had never really completed a full project in the software. Finally I had a chance to recommend animation for a recent project. The scope of the animation was quite l...
