Re: TOONZ GOES OPEN SOURCE
This was a surprise to me - that OpenToonz has a regular "Raster" Level type - which can be use to produce very nice watercolor and colored pencil sketches. Watch, if you will, the following video where this technique is demonstrated along with Peg and Path substitution functionality: htt...

Re: TOONZ GOES OPEN SOURCE
I discovered last week that the vector animations/levels can be converted to SVG: open the file browser, navigate to your scenes/levels, and right-mouse click any file - then choose Convert. Interestingly enough paths can be exported both as filled objects to retain the exact shape of the original, ...

Re: TOONZ GOES OPEN SOURCE
This is just me, speaking. No artificial anything. In Herbert's defence, I too thought it was an artificial voice, and indeed the best artificial voice I'd ever heard. But there was nothing "off" about it, it was great, and I wish it was artificial so I could use it for my own videos (I h...

Re: TOONZ GOES OPEN SOURCE
Not sure if this is a complement or not. Artificial? No, I'm sure it is an insult shrouded in the appearance of praise. This is just me, speaking. No artificial anything. I use Garageband for voice over work. I use a very cheap Microsoft "chat" headset (mic attached). Nothing fancy. Greg ...

Re: TOONZ GOES OPEN SOURCE
For the voice over, did you enhance your own voice in software, or did you use a realistic sounding voice generator? There is something off with the voice over: it sounds artificial. But quite good, so I am interested in your voice over process.

View quality versus preview quality
I have been working with ClipStudio's animation, and one thing that really stands out in favour of CS is its outstanding display quality. Zoom in, out, work on 4K, 8K, draw very thin lines at 0.5px, bitmap or vector strokes: it always renders the strokes and inks brilliantly at a tremendous quality....

Re: Blender (2d Add-on Released)
The developer is relentless. Now he added a pie menu to simplify operations, and it possible to select sub-objects (different hands, mouths, etc.) straight in the viewport! Brilliant.

More GP Tools. Mind, these are not yet in Blender 2.77 - you will need a developer build at this point. But soon.

Re: TOONZ GOES OPEN SOURCE
The main "issue" with the GUI is mainly caused by Studio Ghibli's workflow, which was based on a paper-based workflow. This means large parts of the paperless animation workflow remain hidden for the user when this version is first ran. It is relatively easy to "unhide" these, th...

Re: TOONZ GOES OPEN SOURCE
It's live! And it is the FULL version which Studio Ghibli uses in its productions! https://opentoonz.github.io/e/index.html Believe it or not - it is open sourced. As far as I can tell, this is a great companion to AS. Word of warning to the uninitiated: This is some serious in-depth 2d animation so...
