Re: OpenToonz v1.2 released!
Thank you I find the UI in OT to be the Blender of 2D animation. CONFUSING. I think it the initial confusion is caused more by the concepts and workflow in OT, rather than the GUI. New users have to wrap their heads around the concept of levels, columns, and how these are used in the nodal view and...

At the left top of the Xsheet, click the "Xsheet" labelled button. It doesn't look like a button at first glance, but it is.uncle808us wrote: How do you get the horizontal time line? I can't find it

Re: OpenToonz v1.2 released!
Hey Herbert, does it import the Vectors of clip .clp or only bitmap exports? Bitmap. However, when you export your black and white strokes into OpenToonz, it takes literally a minute to convert those strokes to center-line vector strokes with dynamic thickness that look absolutely identical. And ar...

Re: OpenToonz v1.2 released!
This is interesting... Needs translation plugin https://www.celsys.co.jp/en/topic/20170228 The Western version of ClipStudio supports direct native export to OpenToonz now as well. I use ClipStudio myself, and it works like a charm: create your animation in CS, export, and import in OT. Very powerf...

OpenToonz v1.2 released!
Although called a "minor" update, this version includes: - a horizontal timeline which is zoomable (!) - MyPaint bitmap brush engine that expands OT's bitmap painting capabilities far beyond the initial release - Guided drawing for vector brushes - flip viewer horizontally and vertically -...

Re: Blender New Innovative 2d Animation "GP Tools"
This really looks fascinating, Herbert, but a different world from AS/Moho. The hero with the quick draw (with his weapon) seemed to be a 3D character with a 2D look. I suppose the way to understand this stuff would be to get to know Blender as a 3D program first. Thanks for keeping us informed. Th...

Re: Blender New Innovative 2d Animation "GP Tools"
Lots of development going on now that the first 2d animation short using solely GP Tools is in production.
Multi-frame editing, VFX modifiers, other new modifiers,... It's looking to be a very exciting release.

Re: Vegas Movie Studio 14
I opened Resolve a few weeks ago and my pc laughed at me. It literally laughed. I guess I need a more powerful computer to run it. So I went ahead and splurged on Movie Studio 14. (Better than 13) Herbert... I've never heard of Humble Bundle before so I guess my first question would be, is it legit...

Re: Lost over a whole days of work....
Always, always, always create backups and use some sort of versioning workflow. I use Git/GitKraken to take care of this for me, and it is easy to roll-back changes or inspect edits I did at some point. I use Synkron to automatically mirror a backup to a different drive while I am working. Versionin...

Horizontal timeline is getting more love. The draw order is now corrected (top to bottom approach like in other layer-based applications), and a zoomable timeline is finally here!

Re: Legal free version of Macromedia Flash MX 2004
That's not legal at all, I'm afraid. Adobe provides those keys because the old CS/CS2 activation servers were shut down, and ONLY CS/CS2 OWNERS may use those keys. That Youtuber guy is completely wrong about being it "free and legal". Free it may be, but most assuredly illegal. Whether or ...

Re: Clip Studio, dropping Smith Micro?
ClipStudio is friggin' amazing. Just for fun I installed my CS EX on my aging Asus epe121 Slate, and did not expect much - after all, the hardware is terribly slow, and Krita runs like a snail in mud. It is unworkable. Photoshop: likewise. ClipStudio with a 600ppi A4 document runs SMOOTH. I couldn't...

Re: Toon Boom Harmony 15 - Features Controllers
Turns out that the new wonderful master controllers require scripting. No GUI option is available.
As you can imagine, users on the Toonboom forum are less than amused, and some feel duped. Moho is mentioned quite a lot - if Moho can do this better, what is Toonboom doing?

Might have been the experimental portable version by Turtletooth? That's for Windows only, I believe.
