Re: walk cycle without the character "sliding" across the screen

One way is to create a 'walk ruler'. You have one step in that image, you can use the toe-to-toe distance to establish a baseline for how far each step should be. Use that distance to make a layer with a 'walk ruler', and set it not to render in the layer properties.

Check out one of Victor's examples in the bottom half of this topic:

The images may take a second or two to load.

Re: Noob-friendly walk cycle

I like a simple contact/pass/contact/pass cycle. Contact keyframes are heel/toe. Pass keyframes are one foot flat, the other foot pointed slightly aft while off the ground. When I do this cycle, I'll do the contact keyframes first, which kind of looks like a shuffle. After than, I'll do the 'pass' k...

Re: Debut: Mesh deform on raster image

I'm not at my home computer at the moment, but you may be able to accomplish something similar with a combination of bones and weight. If you just want some image distortion, point bones that aren't parented to each other can be moved independently to pinch/pull parts of an image.

Mixing Moho with Blender background/foregrounds

So this video is part of a series that is a fun hobby of mine, but about 70-ish shots all take place in the same room. I decided to try my hand at making a room interior in Blender 3.3 and just repositioning the camera and focal point as-needed for each background, instead of drawing a new backgroun...

Re: Multilayer Point Transform

I've had some luck with precise point transformations across multiple layers using the numerical tools at the top of the preview pane instead of click-and-drag. You still have to work layers one at a time, and you have to be sure the layers themselves have been transformed the same way (point transf...

Seemed like someone who really wanted auto-rigging and easy-3D as features.

I've used 'Noisy' with low amplitude to simulate shaky-cam before.

Re: New Interpolations

"Accelerate" with a user-set speed cap, and "Decelerate" from a user-set initial speed would be quick compared to Bezzy handles.

Re: Ease In

Bezier interpolation is very useful for complex speed changes, and allows you to customize speeds in each axis of movement individually. While it's easy to change the keyframe to Bezier, the actual controls are in the 'Sequencer' tab of the Timeline window. Double-click the position (+) for the elem...

Re: Need advice on which software to use

But Moho's not great for the rough lines I need. Just the other day, Victor posted a topic on simulating uneven/hand-drawn strokes with some very interesting results that you may want to check out: https://www.lostmarble.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=210410#p210410 Animation tools don't usually have au...

Re: Uneven strokes using a special brush

Outstanding technique.

I've tried achieving this by giving line width a 'noisy' animated interpolation for one frame, but the same 'noise' interpolation was applied to every point along the line, so the whole line just got thicker and thinner all at the same time.

If it feels like too much of a fight to get perfect, you can put a drop shadow down. Just a dark grey oval to cover up the interaction between the feet and the ground.

Re: 2 switch groups for mouths

I used to use a similar trick when working with Debut. Since Debut could only support up to 2 audio files per moho scene, I'd assemble all the dialogue in audacity, then import a single, combined file into Debut. I'd use two switch layers for voices, one set for 'speech off' and one for 'speech on'....
