Ah! I'm used to say "scene" when life-action says shot, that was the habit in all the studios I worked with. Now it makes much more sense. Still, I don't see much advantage in putting different shots into one file. The only combination that profits from that is a file with several shots on...

Only 70 scenes in a 75 minute film? That's going to be really slow editing ...

Usually the sequences an animator works with are exactly as long as the scene one's working at. Right now I'm on a project which scenes can be between 30 and 800 frames long, which translates to 1 to 32 seconds of video.

Uhm, you don't deal with dpi inside a computer. You deal with dimensions measured in pixels instead. In AS you go into project settings and change the dimensions to whatever you need - PAL TV would be 768 x 576 px, HDTV would be 1920 x 1080 px, and so on. In AS you can choose a format up to 4000 x 4...

That's hilarious! I can watch it again and again, so much detail is in there. And doing this in such a minuscule size adds much to the fun. It doesn't even need sound because you told everyhing in easily readable movements. My girlfriend said "They bought their website at IKEA and now have to a...

No, you're nearly finished with animation. Everything is fine, now you can concentrate on the sound and music.

oooooh ... how I'd like to play this at a company meeting where they value teamwork so much! It's near perfection. Some remarks, as usual? At 0:33, there's a closeup of Float, and you see just a tip of Paper. There's another shot with Paper where there's just a glimpse of Float again. Try to avoid t...

Any bone layer controls only the levels which are directly inside it. If you put some levels into a group or switch layer and put this group or switch layer into a bone layer, only one bone will control only the group or switch layer as a whole, but not anything inside it. If you put layers into a s...

You made a mistake while creating the bones. Your left leg seems to be a child of the right leg, that's why it can't help but move with it. Select the bone layer, select the top bone in the left leg, choose the "Reparent bone" Tool (P), click on the hip bone in the torso, hit space. You se...

The Line width tool works after you have created a shape with a line (and fill). Select one point or several points, shoose that tool, and move the cursor horizontally.

I think I solved that mystery by testing several different files. It does not work within a file where one has used the "Offset Bone" Tool during construction, or which relies on flexible binding. It seems to work, however, with the bunch of files I got to work with. Someone built the char...

Well, it works, and it is a scene with complex characters and LOTS of bones and nested layers etc ...

But of course I can't guarantee that it will work elsewhere. I've tested it with just one file.

Nope, doesn't work that way. AS seems to read out the source frame only in the moment it writes the destination frame.

Well, it works with the set of characters I have here. I assume it depends on how you set up characters. These are shared between hundreds of files, so the setup was done elsewhere, and they already have their finished look in frame 0 anyway.
