Australian effects animator Adam Phillips animated the effects in Toon Boom, probably Harmony.

Re: Style window Style drop down menu
Interesting to note that having replaced the names with shorter versions and re-opening in AS, I find that the top three entries in the drop down menu are utility commands - which could not be see when there were long style names. Is Delete Unused new? I couldn't tell you, but I don't remember it. I...

Style window Style drop down menu
Style window Style drop down menu - displays style names from the right hand end of the string instead of the left. So long names cause all other style names to disappear, the entries are blank, and you are working blind or *SIGH* opening the anme file in a text editor to shorten the names. Long sty...

Re: Starting Point for Actions
In the action make sure you only key the stuff that needs to move.
If you key all, all will be affected. Hope that helps a little?

Re: Custom Tool - Keyboard shortcuts for Switch layers
Hi Vern. Thanks, that sounds pretty neato. In terms of additions or tweaks? I think your idea of adding more switches than 10 would be great. Maybe 15? That's 5 extra on top of the standard 10 phoneme set for auto lip sync, which would give 5 switches for a bit of variety and tweakage outside of the...

Re: Will tablets work directly onto Anime Studio
Like title says, would a drawing tab work directly onto Studio? To do smething like that you need a very expensive tablet PC wich have a pressure sensitive stylo. I don't know if something like that ever exists, anyway... Yes these tabletsdoexist and have for a while. Fujitsu had one for years, asu...

Re: Object wielding characters
That's ok glad I could help. If you want to pick up the gun, first work out how that is going to be shot. You could have an empty hand then a hand with the gun as a switch layer and make the gun object disappear when you pick it up (and switch to hand holding gun.) Or a cutaway of hand approaching g...

Re: Object wielding characters
Wouldnt you make the gun part of the hand, bind the gun points to the hand bone?
Unless you want to show him pick up the gun that should work fine.

Re: Smart bone head turn query
Ohhh that's an interesting idea... I'm taking some old but much-repeated advice of Chucky's and sticking closely to my storyboard, rigging for specifically what I need in the shots instead of doing what I tend to do which is diving head first down unnecessary technical rabbit holes for days at a tim...

Smart bone head turn query
http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/4342/headdip.jpg edit: (Not the actual rig, sketch is to ilustrate my point) So I can use a smartbone rig to do a nice head turn between the top two images, And I can even go from the top left image down to the ones beneath it. But I am looking for thoughts on goi...

Try tiny (imperceptible) Zdepth values, 0.001 order of magnitude
(I can't take credit for this tip, it's all Chucky)

Re: Vehicle Turn Using Smart Bones
SMart bones can't influence layer order (yet) even though it looks like it does. Use Zdepth instead.

Re: tools [old player returns]
I'm descended from a convict E-banger. But the jokes on them, I live in paradise while you are trapped in grey old England. They put the wrong people on the boats! 20 degrees celcius in the UK is a life-threatening HEATWAVE. Are there some animators whose work really inspires you? What mediums inter...

Slow down Ed. I think I fall below the minimum IQ threshold for your Tutorials.
So tute #1 is for me to get better at animation,
