Re: Suggestion: Anime Studio as SaaS
I do not care whether a subscription option is offered, as long as it is an OPTION. I prefer to purchase a license that allows me to keep the software running for as long as I wish. When Adobe switched to the Digital Serfdom only, I stopped using their products, and I am now a very happy user of alt...

Re: Meet All Of The New Anime Studio 11 Characters!
So nice to see that hand animated frame by frame animated samurai girl character - great juxtaposition with the other three characters, which all have different styles as well. Animators will take note of that.
Well done.
Well done.

Re: ASP 11 is Released!!!
I updated to v11, and the multiple screen setup issues I was experiencing in v10 and earlier have been (finally) resolved, I believe. I undock the timeline, and position on my second screen on the left. I undock the tools, and position it on the main screen in the center. I then undock the layers pa...

Re: Best Beginner Software?
Although not available yet, keep an eye out for Krita's upcoming frame by frame animation - their kickstarter was entirely successful, and animation will now be implemented in Krita. Since Krita is bitmap focused, and Anime Studio is more vector and bones oriented, these two should complement each-o...

Photoline 19 is out!
The new version is out! This is a milestone release, with workflow improvements across the board, and many new features such as: - placeholder layers to place external content. These update in realtime when changes are made to the external file; - a new colour to transparency adjustment layer (think...

Re: Krita free painter effect program for windows and linux
A new version 2.9.4 is out with the eagerly awaited layer styles!!! Also, the goals for the next major version have been set: - "faster than Photoshop" painting with brushes the size of thousands of pixels on canvases dimensioned at 8k and beyond; - and another big one: ANIMATION support! ...

Re: Toon Boom announces new products (and prices!)
Last time I worked with Toonboom it forced the animator to work with animation curves in a separate keyframe window. I believe it did not offer a full animation curve window. Is that correct? Does the new version remedy this?

Re: Adobe Character Animator vs Anime Studio Pro
Adobe has been in the animation business for a long time with Flash. They are not new to this. Indeed. They were quite effective in running Flash into the ground as far as character animation is concerned, what with the removal of the bone tool (and other useful animation tools) in the latest versi...

Hi Patricia,
It's fun animation, but I fail to understand how your posts fit in the "other software" forum corner? Shouldn't you post these in "share your work"?

A long and interesting journey starts but with a single step!
The things most worthwhile to do take the most effort - especially creative work. There are no shortcuts. But the pay-off and personal satisfaction can be incredible.

Re: A newbie getting started...
The easiest way to animate is to... animate. I realize this sounds like a cop-out, but that is really all there is to it. Animate, animate, animate. Keep doing it, and read as much (practical) animation theory you can. Get "the Animator's Survival Kit" by Richard Williams, read Preston Bla...

The new version is officially out! New features here:

Truly impressive, and as far as digital painting and drawing goes, much of an improvement over Photoshop.

Pixel Art Shader: from 3d to Retro Pixel Art
Japanese artist Toshihiro Kushizaki has released the Pixel Art Shader: a free Blender shader that should convert any 3D model into old-school pixel art. http://lesterbanks.com/lxb_metal/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/20141111_anim.gif http://www.cgchannel.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/150210_BlenderPix...
