Re: Best way to do this...

The Scarlett Riggs character, included with Anime Studio 10 and later has foot turns. You should check that out.

Also, I did one that was a little complex, due to overlapping lines, for a Whinnie the Pooh I made. You can see my discussion on the feet here

Hope that's helpful.

Re: SHARE EDUCATIONAL VIDEOS

When I posed my Jace 2.0 video, some people asked for a more detailed explanation of how to control switch layers with smart bones, so I've just added a new video explaining that. 1Eq8qkRPGho The video does talk about newer approaches, such as reference layers, but could be done with any version of ...

Re: Head Turn Test

I just find the nose flip jarring. Yeah, me too :? I originally tried exactly what you're suggesting, but it didn't wind up like I hoped. It looked kind of like a snake crawling it's way from one side of the face/nose to the other  I think the fact that it's a manga style nose, rather than a ...

Head Turn Test

I've been working on converting a character that I made for comics, a long time ago, into an animated character. It's a composite character, so I can just change the hair and shirt to get a new character (ie I never have much time, so I created the character with reuse in mind :o) Here I'm not reall...

Re: SHARE EDUCATIONAL VIDEOS

I just added a video on converting characters from older approaches to new approaches. I'm converting some of my bitmapped characters to vector using masked eyes and smooth head turns.

Converting Bitmap Characters to Vector

I'm converting some older bitmap based characters to vector and using newer construction techniques, such as masked eyes and smooth head turns, so while I was at it I decided make a tutorial on some of the things I've learned so they might help people newer to Anime Studio. Here's the video and desc...

Re: SHARE EDUCATIONAL VIDEOS

greats videos btw Thanks :) I think the more you plan the faster the actual animation will go. Greenlaw has provided some great feedback on this question. Here are some links that you might find interesting, but I'm sure you can find more. http://www.lostmarble.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=279...

Re: Symmetric drawing?

I was interested in this today and searched and found this thread, but didn't want to create a bone per point. After thinking about it I figured out a way to do this pretty easily :D I believe I got the main idea of using onion skins while constructing, from jessica951 in her character creation vide...

Re: Parent a bone from layers in a switch layer

For those that might be interested, I posted a little video on the construction of Jace 2.0. I'm currently liking how easy it was to construct and animate.

Re: SHARE EDUCATIONAL VIDEOS

This shows how I constructed Jace 2.0 from the Jace character in Anime Studio. I've applied some of the tools and approaches from the latest versions. I'm using smart bones for arms, legs and head turns. I've combined multiple views to give a more generalized character. I also use reference layers f...

Re: Live Puppetry Toolset Needed

I had never tried live animating before. I guess I just assumed it couldn't be done. What I found hard is that things happen too fast. If you could adjust the play back speed and punch in and out, like in music sequencing software, there might be some interesting value.

Re: SHARE EDUCATIONAL VIDEOS

All of the different binding styles in ASP would sometimes confuse me, so I put together a little video to remind me and hopefully help others.
