Re: New commercial, first draft

w/r/t the apron, you could try giving it a bone of its own and point-binding all the points in the apron and pockets to it.

Re: Recommendations for affordable alternative to WACOM

Thank you for the replies. If anyone else has an idea feel free to chime in. Charb, thank you. Couple more questions if you don't mind: Do those monoprice tablets work with ASP11? And you can buy other pens for them? Selgin, that Lenovo Thinkpad sounds like it's worth checking out. I suspect that a ...

Recommendations for affordable alternative to WACOM

It seems that in order to get the most out of ASP11 I will need to purchase a drawing surface and digital pen. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good pen and tablet that will work with a Macbook pro? Preferably one that is not as expensive as the WACOMs are.

Re: Tips on rigging Horse

I forgot that you can of course add layer reordering to a smartbone by making the layer reordering part of an action first, then adding a smartbone to the action.

Selgin has a tutorial on how to remap an action onto a smartbone, so that you can go through the action by rotating the bone.

Re: Tips on rigging Horse

I'd say put it all on different layers. I just finished something similar regarding a head and neck turn. 128027379 The head turn here is two separate bone layers and I alternate between them. One head starts out facing forward and rotates to almost 3/4 front, with the other head sitting at 3/4 fron...

Re: Layer, shape, group coordinates - My brain hurts.

I created the bone layer and put my vector layers into it. I offset the different parts and added bones to them. Everything worked fine. The first issue I started having was when I copied her arm, pasted into a new vector layer and flipped that. I did this on frame 0, with the character broken apar...

Re: Make A Text Layer Into A Vector Layer

Not sure you can turn a text layer into a vector layer. However, you can create a new vector layer, and create the text as vector points in that layer. 1. Create new vector layer. 2. Click on the Insert Text Tool (It looks like a Capital Letter T, with serif) or press Ctrl-T. 3. When the Text window...

Re: How can I see the shadows and shades in the editing wind

Way off at the bottom right corner of the project window (the main work space) you will find the Display Quality button. It might be buried under other windows.

Open that up and turn on shape effects. That should do it.

Re: What would you like to see in 10.5/11?

The ability to set keyframes for shape order within layers -- where a keyframe is created when shapes are moved to the back or brought forward -- similar to how we can keyframe layer order now.

Re: the swamp's character animation

Nice!

I like that Walrus' one bouncing eye.

About the only thing I would suggest is to make the bugs flying around the lantern light up like fireflies when the music turns on. But that's minor.

Re: Copy Layers from one project, and paste into another.

Try this: 1.) Put all the component layers of your blinking eyes into one bone layer. 2.) Open the .anme file you want to copy the eyes into. 3. Click on File -> Import -> Anime Studio Object 4. From the prompt screen, open the .anme file with the blinking eyes in it. 5. Select the bone layer with t...

Re: Good Examples of Chase and Fight Scene Storyboarding?

I'm a complete amateur at storyboarding (heck at animation in general) but I have learned quite a bit about storyboarding from reading Emma Coats' excellent tumbler posts on the subject. She is a freelance storyboarder who has worked on films for Pixar and others. Her Tumbler is chock full of good i...
