Re: 9.5 Pro: Simple Skeleton won't work - why?
Have you tried "Release Layer" and "Release Points" from the Animation menu? Hi Tiger, that answer was fast indeed. Yes, I tried that and think that might be the problem. Now the layers won't respond at all. At one point, all parts moved except the neck, I kept trying to start o...

Re: The data hamster - PS
PS- one bit of criticism from my wife: The data hamster is too likeable to be Friedrich! Too cute.

9.5 Pro: Simple Skeleton won't work - why?
For some reason, I can't get layers and bones connected after messing around with the settings. Even after taking all the layers out of the bone layer, erasing it, creating a new bone layer and putting the layers of the character in it didn't help. The arms and the left leg work as they should after...

Re: The data hamster
I missed this until the night of the German election. I can't vote here, but have followed the campaign. Excellent, totally professional artwork/animation and hard-hitting satire. If the Pirates had had a chance, this would have got them in. The important thing is that the video makes an important p...

Re: Flexi-Binding and Smart Bones
Hey exile, Your problem is simple - the smart action MUST be called the same as the bone (B9) or that name with a 2 after it for the opposite direction (B9 2) - ANY OTHER NAME will not work. Thanks, funk, I never would figured that one out. It worked much better. So the two features can be combined...

Re: Flexi-Binding and Smart Bones
I'm not sure I'm following you. Can you post a file with the problem? Hi Selgin, thanks for your answer. I posted the files at http://singadream.com/forumfriends.htm I really like the new feature: flexi-binding of selected bones to selected layers, but either I did the smart bone action wrong or th...

Flexi-Binding and Smart Bones
I'm having trouble combining the new feature of flexi-binding selected bones and smart bones in Version 9.5 Pro (Windows Version). With a simple rig, I used flexi-binding for each arm and leg, for the body and the head. So far so good, the parts now move with much less interference. But following th...

Re: Ecards with Anime studio
I think the most common format used for animated ecards is Flash, and usually the person you send it to gets a link and the card opens in their browser, often with music or a spoken message. Perhaps a short sequence can be sent as an attached file. I was thinking of using this for short, personal pr...

Ecards with Anime studio
Has anyone made ecards with this program? Or is it better to send a link to a YouTube video?

Re: holding a placard part two
So that's what those cross-hairs are for! Very helpful - I wondered why layer rotating was so cock-eyed I couldn't use it. I've found some helpful stuff in this tutorial which walks you through creating a complex character, the part on how to use the tools for shapes and styles was a completely new ...

Re: holding a placard part two
Thanks Vern and Drumlug, the unnecessary layer keys are out of there, copy and paste worked like a top. Now the "Victor" mice are much better behaved. They got their name because they are based on quadrupeds in Victor Paredes' webinar, at least what I understood of it, so now he has mice n...

Re: holding a placard part two
Thanks for the responses, really great to have this forum - "beginner having problems all over the place" is the right assumption. I posted the file, you have permission to laugh out loud about the clumsy animation, unnecessary layers and key frames. http://www.singadream.com/forumfriends....

holding a placard part two
Heyvern answered a lot of my questions in the thread "holding a placard". I've uploaded a first crude attempt at youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8M_7WFLwn0 New questions have arisen out of the hours spent on these 10 seconds of animation - I notice that when trying to change key fr...

Re: Holding a placard
Vern, thanks for your patience - that wasn't the problem. I noticed it worked ok with one unconnected bone in the sign given a great bone strength, which didn't cause the character any problem, surprisingly. If the sign bone is connected to the character, that causes all sorts of problems, at least ...

Re: Holding a placard
Hi Vern, I can't figure out what my problem is. As soon as I pull the sign layer into the skeleton of the character, and activate the manipulate bones tool (or just move to frame 1), the sign gets pulled completely out of shape. How can I keep it from being influenced by the bones of the character? ...
