Re: First Anime Studio cartoon

Thanks! Yeah, slightly disturbing is the intent. As it was my first Anime Studio project, I tried out a lot of features - layer blending, layer animation, depth, actions. Good fun! I didn't get a chance to use Smart Bones yet... next time, though!

First Anime Studio cartoon

I finally finished my first Anime Studio Pro project (and my second-ever animation). Based on an illustration I did for a picture disc E.P. from my musical outlet, Christus and the Cosmonaughts (http://www.blrrecords.com). Music and sound is from me and my guitarist. Bit of stop-motion in there, too...

Re: Free easy music for cartoons

Just as a caveat: although there's lots of software available, nothing beats the charem of anything selfmade, especially for animation. Get a microphone and some recording stuff (or software) and just use whatever makes a sound. Hear hear! Music can be made from anything, with or without any tradit...

Re: Free easy music for cartoons

Of course, you'll never find software that can replace the years of practice, investment, honing of craft and high production values that you'd get by hiring a professional composer & sound designer on your animated projects. Ahem. :P -j ---- http://joel-s-silver.com That's true, of course! Joe...

Re: Where did my depth of field go?

Thanks for the reply... I never adjusted the origin of the layers in between the DOF being there and it not... and my camera movements have been the same all along. Very strange. I must have changed something somewhere. As I say, it's not crucial to the current project. I will try again on my next o...

Where did my depth of field go?

Strange... I just realized that the clip I rendered last night has no depth of field. It's enabled in my project settings, and my layers are all still at the Z value I set for them last week and none of the layers have the depth of field disabled individually. Yet it's not there. It was in clips exp...

I have not been able to get to this... I get a page full of code. Happened earlier with other vids, too.

Re: Masking question

Ah, that's a good idea... I had no idea you could do that! Nope, no audio on the clip. It's very short, just an image showing on the animated viewer. Now that I have it masked as it ought to be, it's looking pretty cool. I'm really digging this stuff!

Masking question

Bear with me... I am quite new to this. Try as I might, I can't work out how to do something I'd like to do. Here's the thing... I have a sort of viewscreen on an articulated arm. This is all in a bone group. There is a background layer under this. What I want to do is use an imported movie file (wh...

Spooky Halloween cartoon

I haven't finished my first Anime Studio clip yet, but here's a little cartoon (my first ever) done in a simple (and very limited) app called Animation Desk. Unfortunately, the program only exports with very low quality, so a lot of detail is lost. Still, it didn't turn out too bad for my first atte...
