It`s been a while since I went for a 3D ride in AS, but if I recall it properly - extruding is done by adding depth to the shape, where object`s depth goes both Z ways, above and under the layer`s/shape`s Z coordinates. It becomes very importan when you try to fit extruded objects of different dept...

Might be nice toward others to add a comment in topic title about the type of proposal (paid/unpaid), but on the other hand 'Search..." field should lead you to the topic where one of forum members displayed various backgrounds and some other elements.

There are some CC resources as well...

I second with Greenlaw and would add just a few drops of attention to curvature, on these "protuberances" - due to the overlaping. Also, since it looks like this dragon will use his tail a lot, might be better to create a separate parts which would enable the tail to swing on both sides of...

Check Depth of field in Project settings or set individual layers as Immune to depth of field.
