To be honest, I am not a fan of automated in-between's, as they tend to look to mathematical and are often in needs of lots of tweaking to look good. My favorite way of animation is by setting the default interpolation to step and just animate on two's. Of course this is a personal preference! Pers...

That's a good suggestion about using hotkeys to trigger predefined actions, Hayasidist. I think trying to queue up multiple actions might be difficult to manage in real-time, though. I think you would be better of allowing an action to be triggered before the current one is finished and let the scri...

Reason I'm exploring this is that I used to dabble in puppetry commercially and it would be extremely useful to be able to create a puppet from vectors using AS as a realtime performance tool. I wonder if you could assign hot keys to the Morph dials or actions so that you could operate the 2D puppe...

It's not quite 2D puppetry, but you could certainly adapt my MorphDials script to the task http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-oJcqAxbjoE, especially if they add relative morphing to the scripting interface to make it real time. Kinect + MorphDials would be very interesting to play around with. I'm sure...

This might seem extreme, but I highly recommend enrolling in some martial arts classes yourself. This will help you get a feel for the balance and the flow of energy involved in artistic fighting. If you haven't already, I also highly recommend checking out the original Street Fighter II anime. It h...

I agree with crsP. The features you mentioned all belong in the Pro version and I would only recommend a third version for putting in the collaborative features required by large studio projects. AS is in a tough position, though. It has to contend with Crazy Talk Animator from one direction and Too...

From what I understand, commercial motion blur plugins use two steps; the first is to calculate motion vectors for the frame and the second is to apply a convolution filter using these motion vectors. AS already has a blur filter, so turning that into a motion blur filter shouldn't be that hard. Wh...

I think Ren and Stimpy and Spongebob Squarepants have carried on this tradition. In Spongebob, it seems to be a ongoing to challenge to see just how crazy the reactions can be, with Mr Crabs eyes exploding or Spongebob face being sucked inside out, etc. You may even want to go to the dark side and c...

I forgot to mention that if you would prefer the Magnet Tool to work on all child layers of the currently selected Group Layer, instead of having to explicitly select the layers yourself, you would need to take a slightly different approach. function process_layer(moho, layer) if layer:IsGroupType()...

The gears look cool. I can imagine all sorts of contraptions that could be built with them using AS's Physics engine. With regards to the code you posted, that is the sort of thing I meant, only you don't want to return if the mesh is nil as you still want to keep looping through the other layers. O...
