Re: Moho vs. Toon Boom (an opinion vid)
Hey, mikdog, nice to see you posting again. :) Pretty fair and detailed comparison, I think. I have a soft spot for earlier versions of Moho because of the simplicity you spoke of. All the fancy stuff in later versions is cool, of course, but the many features can overcomplicate rigs. I used to own ...

Re: Plot for animated series revealed
I'm not gonna argue, thank you for the advice, I will make another plot later. If anyone has advice I will gladly take it. That's the right attitude. This community is helpful, even encouraging, but it's not a safe space. Opinions are bluntly given because, well, it's the internet and not facebook....

In honor of science fiction writer Harlan Ellison's recent passing, I pass along one of his famous rants:

It was exceptional as expected but way too short for my taste. Looking forward to your production class!

Re: Need to Know Other Moho Animators!
Glad to see you post here. I posted a link to your GoT video awhile back: Game of Thrones Prequel [slightly NSFW]
I can't help at this time, but I'm interested in following this project.
Good luck!

Re: How do you take care of your character shoulders?
The way you described in your video is a good way to do it. One refinement is to use curve exposure tool to vary the stroke length as the arm moves.
Clever use of "patches" in the pelvis, btw.

Re: Hello!!!!
Tony Picou is pretty impressive so you're off to good start. I recommend you test often when you try a new technique. Don't spend tens of hours on a rig and then discover "you can't get there from here."
Really nice work on your website.

Things to check: Camera zoom is the same value for all the layers and scale compensation checkbox is the same.

Re: I Need Help With Character Rigging Methods
Yes, but it depends on the range of motion required for the character. Deciding what method to use comes from lots of testing as you rig. Eventually, you'll come up with something that works for you.

Re: I Need Help With Character Rigging Methods
I would add a downward bone from the waist bone (B1). Then point bind the upper inside of the legs to it, which will hold those points in place. The bone can be manipulated as need to fix any gaps.

Re: I Need Help With Character Rigging Methods
The command to use is "Use Selected Bones for Flexi-Binding". http://i65.tinypic.com/2urtvuf.jpg For example, to bind the left arm: 1) Highlight top bone "Layer 16". 2) Use the Select Bone tool and selected left arm bones (B6, B7, B8). 3) Open up the Left Arm folder, go to the fi...

That's pretty cool. Good idea using this to make reference images for head turns.
