How to set values for InsertTextParams
I see that InsertText is deprecated and we should use the new method, but I don't know how to set the values for InsertTextParams and whether or not the fields in the struct have default values (ie do they all need to be explicitly set). // The following method is deprecated, but remains for older s...

Re: Animate Hide Edge?
I just tried the line width approach again and right now I think patch layers for the shoulders seem to be the easiest for me, but perhaps I'm missing something. Here's the kind of thing I'm doing/trying in case anyone is interested. Q3KR1CB0AvU Thanks for the ideas. I'm still tying to figure out th...

... if I make a simple line element in PS ... does AS automatically convert it to vector, The answer is no. You'll need to think of the drawings in PS as either 1) A bitmap image that you want to control with bones 2) A sketch that you can create the vectors on top of Both are good approaches they ...

... You could just create a simple (no more points than you really need) green filled shape ... The problem I have with it is he is using the blob brush. Good point guys. I don't really use the blob brush, because prior to 11, I didn't really paint much with AS and it was just an idea that h...

Re: Animate Hide Edge?
I've tried the line width and usually have the situation that the points are not close enough. I haven't tried point color. That's a great idea to try. I may run into the same issue as for line width, but will try. The ideas also make me think that I can try adding more points again, because I think...

Re: Animate Hide Edge?
Thanks slowtiger. It's good to know what different people are doing. I've tried that and had some success, but I always have trouble when I'm trying to deal with an edge near a moving portion. (ie it's easy for me to animate a contour/stroke for like a nose or muscle definition, 'cause the backgroun...

FBF for Cleanup
Don't know why I didn't think about this sooner. I guess I tend to think of FBF as a big involved process. Today it struck me that I easily use FBF to paint out some types of problems in the animation. Duh. Don't know why I didn't think of it sooner  For me one of the biggest challenges is get...

Animate Hide Edge?
I'm afraid this can't be done. Is it possible to animate hide edge? I don't think so. I know I can animate stroke exposure, but that assumes I only want to hide one segment. The reason I'd like it is to hide/show overlapping edges near shoulder and/or elbow joints when I animate layers of a body tur...

Re: Hi, boys and girls! An old fart needs a mentor of ANY ag
Hi Ira7, I'd encourage you to think like the 7 year olds :) Pick up the technology and play :) Make sure you make a distinction between the thinking/seeing/understanding (ie the foundation) that people are pointing out here what you don't see is the amount of 3D thinking and sketching underneath. Yo...

Re: Hi, boys and girls! An old fart needs a mentor of ANY ag
Hi Ira7, I'm sure you'll love this forum. Everyone is very helpful and share great ideas. I'm just a hobbyist (would love to be able to do this all day :)), but I've learned a lot from this group and the webinars. If you're serious at all about animation I'd strongly recommend Anime Studio Pro 11, e...

Re: FBF to Create Moving Storyboards in AS Pro 11
Thanks for the tips Greenlaw. It's very helpful to know how people work. Anime Studio is so rich that a lot of what I do is still just learning how to do things (and what the limits are for different tools/rigs/techniques). I recently saw one of selgin's videos where he just seemed to tweak everythi...

Re: Help
The idea of using Anime Studio for creating story boards is something I've been thinking about as well, so today, when I had an idea, I decided to give it a try with the new Frame By Frame tools. I've posted details and a video here. http://www.lostmarble.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=27797 As a...
