I'm afraid I don't have too much to add, but I too really like the style and timeperiod. I can't wait to see it animated!

(a) Some people don't understand why 2.35 : 1 ought to be treated as exotic, but another poster just pointed out that cel animation is seldom done in this format today. So perhaps this is a bit of a departure after all. Why not try composing for this aspect ratio, as I have recently, and see what y...

The link you posted didn't work quite right. I think you meant:

It was a bit short - do you have some more to show us?

The other thing to "worry" about is enforced viewing of ads. It may not be a separate stand-alone player, it may be what flash turns into.

I plan to generate dummy movies from 3D and use the keyframes as references for 2D animation. I'll have 2D models that contain the desired textures, color, lighting, created with Illustrator. So to paraphrase, you are basically rotoscoping a 3d movie into 2d a frame a time. Thanks for your reply, j...

I've been creating 3d objects using iClone 2. If I understand you correctly, this would really fill the bill, because assembling things with its 3d primitives is easy and fast to the max. Note that I haven't found the patience for learning more serious 3D applications, but this is working for me. S...

Mikdog, That is really coming along nicely. The spring of the characters is nice, and adds a lot to the overall feel of the piece. Having the backgrounds pan in separate depths as the camera moves left or right works very well here, along with the depth of field blurring of the trees, etc. The only ...

Like you, I don't see myself as an animator, more as a storyteller. But that doesn't stop me from giving my opinions on other people's works! I really liked this, especially for a first(?) attempt. I thought the lipsync was good, but you need more secondary animation. Nobody is perfectly still, even...

The newer versions of the open-source scriptwriting app, Celtx , have a story boarding module built-in. The app can be downloaded and used for free under Mac OS X, Windows and Linux. Celtx is very nice - I use to keep all of my notes and pictures and ideas for a project all together. I haven't writ...
