Re: I made 2 cartoon episodes, I'd like some feedback.
Hmm. :\ Well, there's not a lot of "artwork" or "animation" to critique here. Are you looking for feedback on the overall concept and execution? Characters and/or voice acting? Writing and story development? Also, what audience is this geared toward? I don't know if I can give ho...

Re: Shading and Lighting
Thanks all :) I can see your style working well in a dramatic piece as well as comedy. Thanks neeters! I'm very glad to hear something like that. :) The current project is not only straddling that line, but crossing back and forth at times. And quickly. Many of these test clips are my attemp...

Re: Animated Opening Sequence for Drone Videos
I also did the Voice Work in this animation....I was shooting for a Boris Karloff sounding voice, similar to his narration of "The Grinch"...what do you think? I think the voice acting was my favorite part. (Sound work overall is good.) :) In fact, now knowing the style and intended goal ...

Shading and Lighting
I got a little carried away with what started as a pretty straightforward headturning rig. I wanted to try including more more shadows and highlights in the design that would move appropriately with a headturn. But then I wound up getting curious how dramatic/interesting I could get the lighting to ...

Re: My characters are "twitching" i guess you could say... h
General beginner animation technique aside, I would say the bigger problems are in whatever's going on with the arm and hand layers. Here are a couple things after looking at the file that I would advise against. Looks like you lengthened the arm by scaling the Layer. I would suggest always trying t...

Re: My characters are "twitching" i guess you could say... h
In that file, the bone dynamics in the shoulder are on. Make sure you go back to frame zero to turn them off, or it will key a the on/off for dynamics in your timeline. There are a couple of other oddities I could suggest fixing when I have a little more time to look at it, but that should fix your ...

Re: My characters are "twitching" i guess you could say... h
You'd have to share it with some file sharing site like dropbox. Sure, I can take a look at it, although I'm not on my system right now, so I won't be able to check until later today. Also, if it's not coming from an interpolation setting, you can try selecting the arm bones in question and check to...

Re: My characters are "twitching" i guess you could say... h
It looks like it's gradually moving less each time, I can't tell because it cuts off, but does the arm eventually stop? At any rate, you might want to check the interpolation type on your key frames. (is the keyframe just a gray circle (smooth interpretation) or does it have some kind of line throug...

Re: Export Audio only?
I always cut an animatic first, with audio. Then, I export an audio clip from each each scene on the timeline... IMO, working from audio based on the actual edit will be more efficient and accurate than slipping inside audio in ASP. Just a suggestion. Naturally, final mixing should be done in video...

Re: Export Audio only?
Not sure why you'd want to to do this because if you have audio inside your ASP scene, then you obviously already have an audio-only file. But if you really need to do this, here's a workaround: simply disable all the graphic layers and render an mp4. What you end up with is essentially a compact a...

Export Audio only?
Just wondering if anyone knew if AS has any way to export only the audio from the timeline into wav (or really any audio format really...) I realize that it's a little backwards to even want to export an audio file from an animation program. But I was just curious because other video editing softwar...

Re: She's up to something - ZHS
Thanks all. :) @ EHEBrandon & Danimal Once again, everything here is done in AS using shape and layer blur and edge effects. And for the most part this is actually just point animation. Bones only in the pre-rigged character that pops into visibility on the frame the drawer starts to open. The o...

She's up to something - ZHS
Here's another clip from the project I'm working on. Experimenting with some framing and lighting style choices. There's some audio for this one, but basic, and will have some character vocals eventually. ***EDIT*** There's a slow fade in at the beginning, so if you aren't listening to audio it's su...
