Re: Lip Sync setup
Agreed. In real life lots of sentences require no lip movement at all. The anime way with just closed - half open - scream works for a lot of scenes. And bear in mind how old those Preston Blair drawings are: nearly 100 yrs now! We surely have changed taste and style a lot in the meantime. Animation...

Re: Lip Sync setup
No, as far as I understand Rhubarb uses the Preston Blair system, which means you need to name your layers exactly like that, with upper/lowercase. Layer order isn't used here. The other automatic lipsync is the one where you assign an imported sound file to the switch layer which will react accordi...

Re: Lip Sync setup
I just wrote about that topic here: https://www.lostmarble.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=216937#p216937 2: Automatic lip sync only relies on the position of the layers inside the switch layer. Closed mouth on bottom, most open mouth on top. 3: Good thinking. Put the different emotions switch layers into...

Re: PNG over saturated on image sequence import
Usually a PNG image should be pretty reliable in terms of colour. Could you post an example image?

Re: Eye rig- making lids invisible?
If the lid is not masked, I make it "invisible" via point animation: just make it so small and place it on another outline.

Video with alpha on Mac OS for FinalCut - workaround
Several tests later... So ProRes alpha-ALAC doesn' work because it doesn't really write an alpha channel. If you export a movie from Moho, render in ProRes PNG-alpha , which cannot be played in Quicktime player, but will import to and work with alpha in Finalcut. FinalCut no longer has an option to ...

Re: Where is ProRes 4444 with alpha in Moho Pro 14?
Update: I've installed the newest FinalCut on the new machine as well. No new codecs available (although I instaled an update with "additional professional formats"). Then tried if the new version has that bug fixed that it didn't remember the length I set for bulk imported images. Guess w...

Re: What was that name again? – Animated loop for my Moho Webinar
Over the last 2 yrs I did _a lot _ of lipsync animation and experimented with several ways: fully automatical, switch with and without interpolation. I found that in a mainly interpolated switch lipsync I can get snappiness in when needed by just duplicating the last key and put it right before the ...

Re: What was that name again? – Animated loop for my Moho Webinar
A favourite style of mine as well (see my https://vimeo.com/683946372 . Of course Moho's strength is the smooth transformation, but I think this style asks for mouth shapes with sharp changes, not interpolation. But of course that's a personal design choice. I like the stuff you did with the speech ...

Re: unwanted jittery brush stroke when rendered
Also check "minimize frame to frame randomness" in the brush settings. This way, brushes will be spread differently only if the distance between two outline points becomes different between frames.

Re: Finally 14
Well, the first thing I did was testing the dreaded alpha issue. I was hoping for new OS and new FinalCut version would be more playing nice. Surprise: it doesn't. The codec menu in OS 13 is the same as in 10.15. Instaling FC doesn't add any more options. Havin Moho 14.1 and FC 10.7.1 on the same ma...

Finally 14
Just an announcement that I finally got a new Mac Mini and successfully set up a Cintiq and Moho 14. Good news: pen pressure is recognized in 14, as it wasn't in 13.5. This is the first new Mac I bought in more than 20 yrs, all other machines were 2nd hand. Hopefully that new setup will last 20 yrs ...

Re: Where is ProRes 4444 with alpha in Moho Pro 14?
No, I suspect Quicktime and this dreaded ProRes alpha ALAC as the culprit. Exporting with PNG alpha from 13.5 gives a file with readable Alpha, so it's not Moho's fault.
