In retrospect, Heyvern was exactly right and very helpful!
Thanks for that.

Re: Mac Workflow
Haha, sometimes I'm kind of a lurker. Sorry about not replying till now! I really appreciate the feedback. Interestingly, I've been trying to figure out what to do for an audio setup, and since so many of you are musicians/audio pros... I have a CAD U37 condenser USB mic, but I'm really looking to g...

Hey, I hope they work too.
I feel like such a poser answering questions in the same thread as Funksmaname!

Re: tree prop causing crashing/lagging
Hey kasinda123, I'm pretty sure Anime Studio can sometimes get overloaded by too much all at once, particularly on machines without lots and lots of RAM. An alternative to your current strategy is to use a particle layer to repeat the item over and over. You can define what it looks like through the...

Re: Blend Morph Help
It sounds to me like you're trying to get too much mileage out of the same rig. Depending on how far your character does a body turn, it's oriented completely differently from before, which might work better with a separate rig. In that case, you could either cut to the new position as a different s...

Re: Creating and switching different character's sides
Hey François, I had no idea what the heck was going on in your video, as far as dialogue, but it was well animated... especially the dancing part. :) As for alternate views of your character, it's up to you to make them by hand. You can save them as separate .anme files, though I like to keep them i...

Mac Workflow
Hi all, Just curious what software, hardware, and workflow fellow Mac users have? I've been toying with Final Cut Pro X, but I know I won't have enough disk space without getting an external drive, and my early-2011 MBP only has the Thunderbolt port. Can the early 2011 MacBook Pro take advantage of ...

Rigging Tips For Quadripeds
Hey guys, I've decided to embark upon the frightening task of creating a relatively realistic Doberman (dog) character, and I'm about done with the art, which means it's time to do the bones. I looked at Selgin's webinars where he showed his bear character, and I wanted to see that file so that I co...

Style and Line Width
Hey guys, So I have multiple characters across different projects, as well as backgrounds, and it seems like the line widths aren't matching up. One character in his own project file had a line width of 5, but imported into another character's project file, the first one randomly had a line width of...

Weird Torso Problem
Hey all, I've got a problem where I try to adjust my character's vector-based torso on Frame 0, and however I adjust it one direction, the points go in the opposite direction afterwards. This topsy-turvy change is then persistent whether I'm in smart bone actions, the mainline, or the manipulate bon...

Re: FREE Webinar: Character Rigging Using Smart Bones - Selg
Are you saying you can't use animated layer order anymore on your characters, if they're rigged with smart bones? That seems like a HUGE loss! What can you do to make up for that in the middle of a scene? Do you have to have a "dumb bone" version of your character to use animated layer ord...

Also, don't forget that on Frame 0, you can see how your character looks and adjust it using the "Offset Bone" tool.

Re: Help Binding Bones Please!!!!
The vector layers you want to bind to bones should be immediately beneath the bone layer that contains them.
Instead of putting those arms and legs in their own group layers, try just putting directly into the bone layer for the character, with no group layer in between.

Re: AS Pro 9 on Mac - odd audio in QuickTime Player?
Anyone found a more satisfactory solution to this? When the sound DOES work, it's not in sync with the lips by the end of a 20 second clip. The only way I found to make it work was to export an image sequence and sync it back up in the editing program (I kept the audio, so I just re-synced the anima...
