The switch layer can be inside a group that has masking.
But the switch layer can't have groups inside.
The switch layers must all have the same amount of points and only interpolate from moved points (not layer transformations).

The trick is not to create new points on the circle, but to join your line to the circle's points. This way the circle won't lose its shape.

A nice style and animation.
I can't see anything there that you couldn't do in Anime Studio. In the depth of field video there is a 3D tree, which Anime Studio can also import and use.

If the imported video is very large then Anime Studio will slow down. Can you make a low quality version of your imported video? You could then swap to the high quality one when you want to render out your final animation?
