Re: Blender New Innovative 2d Animation "GP Tools"

Here's how to setup and optimize Blender's Grease Pencil Interface. It's a breeze ! n2SHQvn5U6g Next - and very soon - "How to Draw, Paint and Animate with Grease Pencil" Though it very likely will never change - I hereby state I hate the name of these Blender 2D animation tools. Greg Smith

Re: Blender New Innovative 2d Animation "GP Tools"

Steve and Others: I'm sorry about introducing so many new things. They ARE hard to keep track of and master. I like what can be done with Moho 12 Pro - and I have liked it since its introduction. However, for those of us without large budgets for what may be, for us, a hobby - a pastime and a divers...

Re: Disappointing expensive Moho 12 Update

Steve: I like your comment about what we need more of, as animators - more practice drawing - rough sketching - less reliance on "cheats" (although I will use them at every available opportunity - for time's sake, if nothing else). Time is both our friend and our enemy - being so finite. I...

Re: Blender New Innovative 2d Animation "GP Tools"

Steve and Herbert and Others: Over the last few weeks I've had the opportunity to delve deeply into version 2 of Blender's Grease Pencil 2D animation suite (or "sweet"). It is very complete and very stable - combining all of the attributes and functions that a computer animator needs - and...

And now - here's how to make that Crawling Worm with Shading, facial animation - and a minimalist approach:

Moho 12 is Fast, Easy & Expressive

I've been comparing various animation software on my YouTube Channel - to find out, from experience, which application provides the most stability, ease of use, simplicity, straight forward approach, speed of production and, most of all - FUN. Here's a very short animation test - for which a tutoria...

Re: Blender New Innovative 2d Animation "GP Tools"

Herbert: I'll tell ya what gives . . . Like a fool, I was using the Mac version of the 2.78 "Official" release candidate - where, as you might expect - the "Interpolate" and the "Sequence" commands are missing. Everything works nicely in the Windows 2.78 release candida...

Re: Blender New Innovative 2d Animation "GP Tools"

Herbert: I just downloaded the latest Blender 2.78 release candidate and all of the Grease Pencil "interpolate" commands are absent. Without interpolation, all Grease Pencil animation must be done in a Frame-by-Frame fashion. I was under the impression that all the Version 2 stuff relating...

Re: TOONZ GOES OPEN SOURCE

Wes: Yes, I thought I had corrected that cumulative error "advancement" - but it shows up each time - even with the first and last keyframes for all bones used being identical (but they are moved forward in the last frame). Now, in the case of the worm crawling - the first and the last key...

Re: TOONZ GOES OPEN SOURCE

Exile & Wes: Thank you Exile, for your praise and for your defense. I agree with you about the extensive utility of OpenToonz "Plastic" set of tools. There is a wide field of application open for producing very good and interesting character animation - made almost entirely with these ...

Re: TOONZ GOES OPEN SOURCE

The Whole Worm (and nothing but the Worm). This is a pretty complete video of how to produce a crawling Worm that advances as he crawls and alters his facial expressions at the same time: lkoX4kMRZlA It's all done with the amazing Plastic Tool and very few keyframes (or Poses). Have fun, Greg Smith

Re: TOONZ GOES OPEN SOURCE

Ehilado: I don't know. Moho 12 is very complicated and difficult to master. OpenToonz is actually much more straight forward in its approach to animating. OpenToonz "Plastic" tools really are much simpler than anything Moho has to offer that does the same thing. The Plastic "Nodes&quo...

Re: Has Anyone Used The-Tab?

Chris: I've tried "The Tab" some years ago - and it seems to be a stripped down version of Toonz Harlequin. It lacks all of the "Studio" tools for a "Traditional" workflow and I do not believe it has "Plastic" Tools. It is meant for the "one man show"...

Re: Moho 12

Learn to use Pin Bones to create general animated Deformation. Utilize the Pin Bone's abilities to Rotate and Scale portions of a "Soft Body" - thus correcting any deformation problems.

Create a "Worm Cycle" with only 2 Key Poses:
