Hi J. Thanks for testing that. The shape is simply a hand drawn graphic done in Flash and converted to a movie clip. Just the standard proceedure. Darn strange how two seperate apps could have the same bug??? It's how my luck generally goes.... tripping over a huge bug on my first try at some softwa...

Hi J. I used Swish Studio. I sent them my Flash files and they had the same problem as I did. I'm still waiting for the reply to second question.

Hi Human. Thanks for the reply. I am after a very simple self executable style character that requires no installation like Swift and Zinc offer. The projectors are all self contained with a flash player so basically just run when they are executed. I just tried to download one of the widgets you po...

Hi J. I used Zinc and Swish demos. Swish just replied to me and said there basically is a bug in Swish that won't allow the actionscript to work correctly if i compile my swf in Swish with a transparent background!!!! Man can you believe that!!! Zinc people just don't know what is going on. At least...

Well...here's what's happened so far.....I've checked out all of the above, thanks to all. Mooncaine, re: Widgets, it seems it is very difficult to find any tutorials on creating an animated character widget. It appears the terminology has widespread applications. As far as the other options go, the...

Hi J.
Thanks for your help on this topic. A question on Swish. Will a projector created from Flash files in Swish, like your invisible bicycle exe, play on most operating systems? What about a Mac?

Ok J....you just opened up another can of worms for me. You said the animation is not optimised for Flash? I've been learning Flash for the last few weeks in my spare time and have had terrible trouble figuring what's going on with Moho swf exported files. How have you been optimising Moho swf's for...

Hi .
Selgin, that technique is great thanks. I did'nt realise you could use a html file as a wallpaper. J, the projector idea is almost perfect but it seems you have to click an executable to make the animation run. Is that right?

Desktop Animation?

Does anyone know how one would go about making an animated character appear on the desktop along with all the icons?

Edit:
I'm familiar with animated gifs as wallpaper but I am trying to get an animation to appear as an icon rather than wallpaper, similar to a virtual pet for kids.

Cheers
