Switch Layer source file shown as 'none'
AS7PRO, Win 7 64-bit. I'm going through Tutorial 5.2. In it, a 'Mouth' Switch Layer is set up to use a data file from Papagayo called 'vista.dat' in order to lip sync with the audio file heard to say 'hasta la vista, baby'. This is done by going to the Mouth layer pop-up's 'Switch' tab and navigatin...

It's not really clear what your problem is. I thought I explained it pretty well. What didn't you understand? AS doesn't support PSD as a file format. Read the appendix of the manual for a list of supported formats for image import. In fact this is something I do before I even buy a piece of softwa...

Re: PSD and me
I'm more than willing to use something better (I assume here you refer to Photoshop). What do you think is better? What do you use?Danimal wrote:Yep, it means you use a laughably overpriced piece of junk.Peteroid wrote:Is there a problem with the PSD format?
But perhaps that's not what you meant...

PSD and me
AS7PRO hee. I have been using Photoshop 7 for a while. Then I got a new computer. It's a great computer. Very powerful, lots of bells and whistles. Including an built in 1.5T HD. Win 7 64-bit, octo-core. Problem is that Adobe Photoshop 7 doesn't 'understand' that a HD can have more than 1T of free s...

This might help: newbie problem: making fill shape with hole Yeah, that did it. I didn't know how to turn auto-fill off (it has to be turned off when creating the 'hole' shape)... thanks everyone! :) Here's the thing that the manual should say: You can't ADD a hole to an existing Shape... if you wa...

you need to have all points selected when you use the create shape. I find the easiest way is to use the select point tool in lasso mode. Also, having auto fill, off. This way, you don't have to remove any unwanted fill from the hole. I am selecting all the points. I do this. I create a red square....

Problems making Holes in Shapes
AS7PRO here. I'm starting to think the PDF manual is written for the Mac interface, and that there are slight differences with the Windows version. I'm using Win 7 Premium 64-bit. I'm using the manual that came with product... is there a corrected version downloadable on-line (I know of at least a h...

Slight inaccuracy with Grid
I'm doing Tutorial 2.8. In this a 3D cube is built. They ask that the Grid be turned on (View Grid). They then ask for this to be expanded so that it is a perfect square eliminating from the center just touching the upper and lower boundary (using ALT+SHIFT from center). When I do this, the points a...

if you look in your styles palette, at the top you have ''shapes'' and ''styles''buttons for submenus. The shapes submenu is used for selecting the shape you want to have the style applied to. The styles submenu is used to create different styles you want to apply to your shapes. To apply the style...

I'm Confused about Styles
AS7PRO here. OK.... this is the first tutorial I've done that left me confused. I'm referring to the one about Styles, Tutorial 2.7. A project is opened that is already set up (which is the problem, it never describes how to set it up). When open, there already exist Styles: Skin, Outline, Pants, Sh...

Layer Masking
Just a quick reality check (for me)... In the context of AS7PRO, a 'layer mask's shape is what is made visible (or see-through), not what is hidden, yes? I'm use to the word 'mask' to mean the part which is covered up, or the exact opposite of how it is used in AS7PRO. Again, this is just the way I ...

It's read at load time. (In windows), go into C:\Program Files\Smith Micro\Anime Studio Pro 6\Library (or C:\Program Files\Smith Micro\Anime Studio Debut 6\Library\Library) and just rename the directory. Then restart Anime Studio. Erik Thanks! Yeah, I finally realized I can completely manipulate th...

I find it helpful to add a note layer with the visibility set for frame zero only. You can then have a more visible way of distinguishing your edit modes. In fact, if you go into your drop downs, under edit preferences you can set your start up file to something you've customized. My startup file i...

From my own experience and seeing how works people I have teached AS, it's a problem at first, but when you assimilate it doesn't bother you anymore. So, in my opinion, it doesn't necessarily need much more feedback than it has. Sorry for not being too supportive. Anyway, as help I can tell you tha...
