If I wore a hat it would certainly be off right now to both Mike and Smith-Micro. If I say negative things about Anime Studio, it's only because I can see the great potential in it and hate the thought of it going to waste. However, hearing that Smith-Micro is putting money into it, and Mike is lead...

I'm not so sure about japanese animation using any real world cels at all ... I would think they do all colouring and compositing completely digital right now. Do you have any sources about that? You are of course right, slowtiger, but the software they are using would have been designed to emulate...

Oops, I missed this thread as I didn't know it was about Anime from the subject. As far as I know the soft focus effect comes from when they photograph the animation cels. They probably soften the focus to give it a more natural looking film quality and help integrate the characters with the backgro...

We're still using Moho 5. Not a thing wrong with it. GK That doesn't surprise me either. Moho 5 and AnimeStudio 5.6 are virtually identical anyway, apart from the 3 extra features and bug fixes in the Mac version. I don't know if this has been asked before, but do you guys use scripts much to custo...

I don't really see the sense in this poll. How much would I pay for a something with undefined content? Nothing. I wouldn't like to be in a situation where I need to pay for an update with mostly useless features. If S-M reads this thread, they may actually come to think "Hey, they're willing ...

I for one feel terribly guilty. I often feel like a hypocrite. I bought Moho for $99. That's it. That was a few years back. I got the free upgrade to AS for Windows. Then Fahim (remember him?) gave me a coupon for a free copy of AS for Mac when I visited e-frontiers booth at a Macworld expo in NYC....

How much would you be willing to pay for an upgrade to V6?

I see that there's been a lot of discussion about whether Anime Studio Version 6 will ever come out or not. It seems that a lot of it is based on an assumption that it would still be free as other updates has been. While free is always good, it would limit the amount of time and money that could be ...

There are a lot of things involved in the process. The lines are dark, totally dark. So you're saying that the lines are 100% black? In that case did you have to reduce the alpha, or perhaps you did some post-processing with another app? Are you able to say a bit more about the details? Personally,...

Man, these animations are truly great. They are easily on par with many professional Animes, only they're done by a single person, instead of an entire studio! I do have a question about how you achieved the look of hand-inked lines, though. Did you simply make them dark grey instead of black, or is...

The illusion is complete! Nice job, man! If you did end up using perspective reference lines, do you think you could put up a version with them still in, as I think it would be useful to the rest of us. Better yet, it would be great if you could include the bones as well. Understand if you don't wan...

Sorry to double-post, but thought I would mention that there are quite a lot of good 3/4 walk-cycles on YouTube. Most of them are 3D, though, where making a 3/4 walk cycle is just a matter of changing the camera view. This one seemed like it would be good for a reference. http://au.youtube.com/watch...

I think that the best idea so far is for me to add a few perspective lines with vanishing point and try to keep everything in proportion. I think I'll add a couple of bones near the hips too so that, by scaling them, I can maybe make the hips swing (I did something similar with the chest but it's a...

The top part of the body actually looks pretty good for a first try, but the bottom definitely has some problems. I think it's because the knees seem to be bending off to the side instead of directly forwards, which makes the walk look quite comical. My advice would be to draw perspective guidelines...

OK, I'll do it! I just can't say no to the glorious Samus, I guess. Anyway,, I need to work on my animation skills, and this seems like a good exercise for that.

And megatronx, I got your email containg the body part images. I should be able to start rigging it tonight.
