Re: Art Work for Anime Studio in Manga Studio - any advantag
@jahnocli, it's a custom font based on my 'comics style' handwriting. I've been using it ever since I started drawing in Manga Studio. I often find I need to tweak letter/word spacing, which probably means my kearning pairs are not setup thoroughly enough. One of these days I need to fix that. The p...

Re: Screen Marker - Useful (and Free) Windows Utility
Oh, I almost forgot: because ASP doesn't have a ruler, here's another on-screen tool I find useful: ScreenRuler I usually keep the transparency set pretty high, 50 or 60%. Alternatively, I keep a layer with non-filled shapes (mostly rectangles and squares,) to compare sizes and spacing between objec...

Re: Art Work for Anime Studio in Manga Studio - any advantag
Manga Studio EX is fantastic for what it was designed for: drawing comics. The bitmap drawing tools in (4.0) are pretty good--not great but better than adequate for drawing 'black and white' comics with gray tones. Version 5.0 finally adds real color painting support though I haven't used the color ...

Re: Making a STYLE without a Fill
Oh, I just thought of something--it's possible that you have a copy of the shape stacked on top of another and the bottom shape might be filled with white. This happened to me once. To find out, try selecting and deleting the top shape. If there is a copy of the shape underneath, it should remain vi...

Re: Making a STYLE without a Fill
That sounds strange. FWIW, it works here. Just to be sure of your procedure: 1. Create the style and name it. 2. Uncheck Fill. 3. Select the shape you want to appy the style to using the Select Shape tool 4. Apply the style by selecting the style's name from under the Style 1 or Style 2 list. If you...

Re: Lagarith Lossless Codec Skipping frames, and removing la
Lagarith is an excellent codec for archiving video footage but it's a bit heavy handed for submitting as a YouTube video. I would avoid it for YouTube because: 1.) it will take forever to upload and for YT process. 2.) any quality benefit you might expect will most likely appear negligible because, ...

Re: Art Work for Anime Studio in Manga Studio - any advantag
I think it's a never ending process. Alisa and I are quite far along in producing our first ASP short film and I still feel like we're developing our workflow. Hope we get ours nailed down when we finish this project.exile wrote:I'm still experimenting with my work flow...

Re: Art Work for Anime Studio in Manga Studio - any advantag
This is getting complicated. Smith Micro only has a boxed version of Manga 5... Wow, this must have happened recently because I got 5 EX as a downloadable not that long ago. I draw both of my webcomics Brudders and Streams with Manga Studio EX. I do all my comics drawing with MS EX's the vector too...

Paste In Front and Paste Behind
I know we have the Raise and Lower commands in ASP, which is fine but what I would really like to have is a Paste In Front and a Paste Behind command, like the ones that exist in Adobe Illustrator and other vector based drawing programs. These edit commands can be a bit more direct and specific than...

Draw mode, rotate around mouse pointer
When drawing in ASP, is there a way to rotate a selection of points around the mouse pointer? the Rotate tool currently defaults to the center of the selection and there doesn't appear to be a way to temporarily move the origin. Right now I'm frequently having to rotate my points and then reposition...

Re: story bord
I wrote a article on storyboarding our short film 'Happy Box'. It's pretty specific to the project but it might give you some helpful insight to the process. You can read the article here: Studio Sessions 3: Storyboarding 'Happy Box' You can also see the final short film by clicking the link below. ...

Re: Event Markers
The 'Onion Skin' marker is probably the closest existing feature to my original request, but of course without the actual onion skin effect enabled. If the 'note' popped up when you hovered over the marker, so you don't disable the marker or actually go the marked frame, that would probably do the t...
