Re: Anime Studio 10
On an amusing side-note, someone posted a work-around for real-time animation with AS: basically hold down the right arrow button while using the mouse to move object/points/whatever and the program will automatically record the keyframes.

Re: Troubleshooting Bones... What am I doing wrong?
I'm not sure what happened but it appears the binding to the bones was removed. To fix it what I did was: 1) Hide layer 4 so I can see what I'm doing 2) Select layer 3 3) Use the Select Point tool (G) to select all points 4) In the menu select Bone->FlexiBind Points Now, on to some general questions...

Re: Help! Anime Studio is a buggy mess!
I've only seen this behavior when working with a large number of image files (importing hundreds of files for frame-by-frame). The behavior you are describing sounds like a memory problem - the computer is moving a lot of bytes around and it's just taking a long time. If you are using image files as...

Re: Making characters in AS vs. Photoshop
It's very much the look you want -- when I started with AS, I did the artwork in Photoshop and then imported it. Over time I've done more and more with native AS tools. You certainly have more control with the AS tools, so now what I do is the characters in AS and the backgrounds in Photoshop (or a ...

Re: Amber - My latest character
Her arse looks too big and too high up her body, and the hands look a bit masculine. Other than that, she looks real cute... Indeed she is "generously proportioned" -- I was going for more of a cartoony look rather than a model look. As I do further releases I'll improve the design. http:...

Amber - My latest character
I just finished uploading my latest character to Content Paradise. Her name is Amber and I envision her as the first in the line of "Amber's Adventures" characters, such as Tribal Amber, Vampire Amber, etc. Let me know what you think. Erik http://stormcel.com/images/AmberPromoMainLg.jpg ht...

Re: Bone Dynamics stopped working
I have inadvertently overridden bone dynamics with smart bone actions before. Basically I created a smart bone but accidentally added another bone to the action. If you select the action in the action popup and select the rotate bone tool, all bones that are affected are highlighted.

Re: Body movement as if it were in 3d
That's certainly an interesting challenge. You can do it with smart bones but the set-up time is substantial. You may also want to take a page from our old friends in the 2D gaming world such as Doom, where they actually drew the same character from different angles and played it in sequence (aka. F...

I usually hit youtube for tutorials, for example this looked like a fine one (version 7 but that's OK for learning):

Re: Timeliine Buttons in 9 Pro
I believe that's a feature -- to delete a keyframe, you just highlight it and press DELETE. Control-C/Control-V to copy and paste, left-mouse drag to move keyframes. At first I thought it would be error prone but it actually works quite well.

Re: Best Exporting Format?
I usually export to avi (with a lossless codec) or png image sequence if I need a transparent background. I put all of the clips together in an video editing program (Sony Vegas or Premiere Elements).

StormCel Gaming League
My latest project is a website and a series of videos called the StormCel Gaming League. The idea can best be described as video games meets reality TV meets WWE. The site is still under construction but you can get an early preview by going to: http://StormCel.com Take a look and let me have any fe...
