Excellent! This reminds us how emotionally powerful animation can be.

I had Aegis Animator on the Amiga. Pretty cool program, especially for the mid-1980s.

Autostereogram

Blur your eyes a little bit and this will appear 3D. No special glasses or newfangled monitor needed!

Mostly stuff I made 20 years ago on the Amiga, but there should be more AS projects in the future.

That looks great! Was the head-turn done point-by-point just for this shot, or were blend morphs or some kind of complex bone rigging involved?

Good work! You've got a consistent style but each character is an individual, visually and with the voices. Glad you dusted this off and finished it.

I liked that "Coming this fall " line at the end. I think a lot of us can relate!

I asked about rotoscoping because the sound clip is from a movie and the proportions seem close to life.

Seems like the middle of her upper lip never moves, but it still looks pretty good. Was this rotoscoped?

By "the feel" I mean it causes a good emotion in the viewer. Don't change it so much you lose that. Rhoel's changes keep the emotion.

Those changes would be improvements, but don't lose the feel. A lot of illustrations for childrens' books use non-realistic scale and perspective in ways that add to a sense of enchantment.

I love the textures of the alien and the Chia Planet. Are those bitmaps made in ArtRage?

Looks good, but I'm not sure I'm seeing the effects. May just be really subtle.

You can be a pretty lazy animator and still get decent lip sync using Papagayo. Do what dreww says but use the 10 Papagayo mouth shapes. After making the first mouth, I like to make a note layer in front of everything with a note that says "<-- mouth corner -->". I then copy this note laye...

His face changes expression enough to keep it interesting, but he always seems positive and well-adjusted. Good spokes-character for that kind of facility.

I actually did use bones. The ocean was a photo run through a watercolor-effect filter. I had five bones with a shared parent deforming the image under control of a sixth bone, then a large stationary bone along the top to keep the sky and horizon from moving. If I were doing it again, I'd put more ...
