How I Rig eyes with bones tutorial (repost with commentary)
I know!! I'm going nuts with the tuts today! I swear it's the last one today!!! It's because I got a new computer! LOL! Anyway, this is a repost or redo of a tutorial I made last year on one way to make eyes and how I animate them. It's not the best way or the only way, it's just something I do a lo...

How I lip sync frame by frame (fairly quickly)
I think that the first thing any user of anime studio wants to do is make a character talk and sometimes it's a little frustrating getting to that point where your happy with it so I made this video to show you how I lip sync in a pretty fast manner. I know, some of you will say this is too time con...

How I make simulated cloth animations.
What's up AS forum!!! One of the very first things I learned how to do when I first used anime studio is how to make realistic cloth. Within a couple of days of using the program I figured this out and I KNEW anime studio was the best program for me to learn and use! I made an example of this a long...

Awesome!
Beautiful technique! I'm still determined to figure out why the patches aren't working but I'm thinking now it's not a patch problem but a style and shape validation problem. My noses are having the same problem but I didn't use patches on them. But this technique is awesome. I agree with Darth some...

Picture of problem
Here's the problem. The left one is a screen cap of the work canvas and as you can see, there are no visible lines because I'm using patch layers but the right image is a render of the same frame and you can see lines all over including the nose? any ideas? http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u310/jc...

Trouble with patches and visable lines.
I love AS but I'm getting real frustrated with it the last couple of days. I create a complete characters with multiple switch layers for hands, facial hair etc.... and the new patch tool SEEMED to be working great and in the work area everything looks amazing BUT when I render it's showing lines wh...

Patch tool question? Working with switch layers.
First off AS 8 is the shizzznitt!! Best animation software on the market! I bow before it's greatness! But......I'm having a little issue with the patch tool. While it's probably one of the most impressive additions to the AS tool set I'm having difficulty using on switch layers. Particularly, I wan...

Removing backgrounds from photos/animating photos
This is quick video on how to remove backgrounds from photos and animating them. crsP suggested I put this into tips and tricks section of the forum. Sorry about the quality of the video capture. I fear my mac is in it final days and REALLY doesn't like the capture software I was using. http://www.y...

Video response to blackhawk-cut out photo animation
Hi Blackhawk, Rather than trying to explain how I would do this I though it would be better if I just made a quick video to explain how I'd do this. It's pretty rough, but it should give you the basics on how to achieve what I "think" you're going for! I hope this helps!!!! :) guyver93 htt...

Freehand tool
I'm with funksmaname! I've been using AS for more than a year now and I never use the freehand tool. It's almost become second nature for me to draw squares and circles without fills and just adding points and using the bending tool to make curved lines or angles. When you learn the short cuts it be...

Mouth annimation and chin movement
Hi Joel, I was going to say pretty much what jonbo said as well but I wanted to show you an example of this as well. This is an animation quite a while ago but I did pretty much what jonbo was talking about except I made the entire head shape with mouths as switch layers. The reason I did this was f...

Full and limited animation
Hi lwaxana, I love your animation style that you use in AS but I think I know what you mean wanting to use both styles of animation. However, you take a great deal of time to make sure your animations look really tight an uniform which makes them look like traditional animation anyway! I think you c...

Flip it
Hey Tom, Put your entire character or layers into a group folder. Hit the duplicate button in the layers window. Then just hit the flip layers horizontally button at the top of the screen. It's a line with arrow ends on the left and right of it. If you don't see it at the top, make sure you hit one ...
