Re: Cintiq and ASP11?
Drumlug, I can see what you mean. I find that ASP11's vector drawing tools are very good indeed providing you 'build' characters and stuff point by point, or by modelling raw shapes. Where I find it can be a little frustrating is in freehand drawing (the Freehand tool is much better than it used to ...

Re: Cintiq and ASP11?
That pretty much nails my doubts. The smallness of the UI, on a small screen. I am looking at the 13" Cintiq because I work very often on the go. But screen size is not the only doubt. For example, like everyone, I tend to work with keyboard shortcuts a lot. How does that change on a Cintiq? On...

Cintiq and ASP11?
Since November, when I first started using it, ASP11 has rapidly become one of the applications I use the most. Now I'm thinking about buying a Cintiq 13 HD (it would be my first Cintiq, so far I've been using regular tablets, the latest being an Intuos 5 touch), and while I have no doubt it will be...

Re: Single line with stroke: must it be done in two moves?
Thank you for that explanation. True, I did notice that fork feature and found it useful. Not seeing the line form as one goes along is a little strange and needs a little getting used to when you come from most other vector drawing, on the other hand ASP's vectors are really fun and flexible once y...

Re: Single line with stroke: must it be done in two moves?
Well, the bucket solution is another way I didn't know about. Quite similar to 'create shape', I guess. I admit that being able to see the line 'live', so to speak, as you go along creating it point by point, would be nice. I find the two-step procedure of point-building and then attributing propert...

Single line with stroke: must it be done in two moves?
I cant' seem to draw a vector line with a stroke in one move. Say I create a simple line with the 'add point' tool. Two, or three points. I get a spline of the line but I can't find a way to create it with a stroke as I go along or close it at the end some way so it will know it should have a stroke...

Re: Save settings for Layer Properties?
Ok, very useful, big time saver.
I guess a Save Settings menu would still come in handy, because it could (maybe) be used across files and i feel being able to save settings profiles would give more control. Having said that, your advice is a big step forward, thanks!

Save settings for Layer Properties?
Unless it's out there and I haven't found it, I'd find the ability to save Layer Properties very useful. For example, if I want to share the same shadow, or vector settings of one layer to another layer, now I have to copy them number by number. If I could save them with a name and then choose them ...

Re: "Set Layer Start Time" doubts
Ha, yes I guess one should always be wary about wishing out loud "why not add the option to..." because that's what ends up making software bulky.

Re: "Set Layer Start Time" doubts
Actually the whole movie starts at 0, but I have layers that start at other frames. In this particular instance, I have a series of different (and unrelated) animated events which appear in sync to a musical soundtrack. So I'm preparing them in separate files and then importing them at the desired f...

Re: "Set Layer Start Time" doubts
On the other hand, it seems to me as if ASP11 does put an extra keyframe right before the one you choose to be the new starting one. Imagining start at frame 100 again, I see ASP lets me move the position of the character without adding paths (the straight line path which I've come to learn indicate...

Re: "Set Layer Start Time" doubts
Right. So if my Layer Time starts, say, at 100, then frames 1 to 99 are considered like any other frame? If zero is editing frame and 100 is Start Time, whatever falls imbetween is a sort of 'limbo' :D I don't know why, but this concept tends to elude me quite often. I mean it hasn't yet sunken into...

"Set Layer Start Time" doubts
This is not really a "How Do I...?" but more like a doubt. I'm using ASP for a major project (for big screen projection, so, quite detailed) and I can say It's working well for me. One thing I sort of fight with, though, is how the Set Layer Start Time command works, especially how it impa...

Re: exporting stills
I'm using Pro11. But, oops... my bad! I totally missed the Save As menu on the Render Cache window! Great, make believe I didn't say anything :D Thanks Slowtiger. So that solves that. I guess it would still be nice to be able to change the res of the images, especially for print purposes. I guess on...

exporting stills
Is there a way to get some good quality still images from my animated project? I find myself using the images from the Render Cache but they never look very good and the resolution can't be changed (not that I've seen but I may have missed it). I find a good old export to jpeg, tiff, png, maybe even...
