This has happened to me too. When you get his error message, you won't be able to open the file as is. The best you can do is edit the file in a text editor to recover some of it (as you did). Here's a thread about this: Anime Studio 5 error...? It seems layer ordering is prone to this sort of error.

I had to look your file and read your description like 6 times before it I got it. So this star setup could be added to the end of any chain of bones--eg., arm or legs--to keep a shape pointing in a constant direction? Brilliant! :)

Turn off layer visibility. See "Anime Studio Windows" (page 258-259) of the user manual.

That's pretty neat. If you can, please show how you achieved that effect without using 3D objects.

Each part needs to be a separate image layer. See Tutorial 4.1 (page 78 ) in the user manual for an example.

I have the same book. It's terrific.

Your examples are a good start. One suggestion: On the paper airplane, the speed of plane seems constant. It should slow up in distance and speed up when in closes in. Adding more frames will slow it down.

No hard feelings at all, in my view. Then again, I only signed up for a month, so I got more than my money's worth. Not sure how other users would feel with longer subs, but I'd imagine most of them would feel like AmigaMan.

Don't know martial arts, but doesn't the arm usually extend with the opposite leg?

Still, your methods are pretty creative. I'm always looking forward to see what you come up with next. :)

See the technique described in the Users Manual: "You can also use the sequencer to show or hide a layer at any time during the movie." (p. 288).

Referring to your other post, you rigged the character in a straight ahead view, but you tilted the camera to get this 3D effect, right? Do you have to do much point motion to correct distortion? It looks like it would be a lot of work to keep the volumes from looking flat.

Here's my interpretation of Dragon Girl (no animation though, just for illustrative fun.) Looks like this is turning into a jam session. http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll171/mlim888/DragonGirl_05b.png What's the back story for this, um, horny creature? Ahem.
