I have to admit that I can't really get a grip on the sprawling Toon Boom family. The Harmony page is full of corporate language, but I struggle to see what it actually does. Is there a demo or are there any online tutorials that can give me a feel for it?

Yup, tablet's the way to go.

I still struggle with switching onion skins on and off. Often ASP will register two fast consecutive clicks. I think there should be a 0.1 second delay before the onion skin bar becomes responsive again.

Upgraded from 5.6. By now, enough little enhancements have crept in that it's worth it for me. Mainly in the drawing tools and of course the rounded caps.

Re: An enhanced colour picker

1. Add sliders to the R/G/B controls - much more user-friendly than typing in new values. You can right-click + drag over all numerical input fields to change their values in AS, including the RGB value text fields. 2. The option to display 0-100% in R/G/B/Alpha rather than 0-255. Agreed. At the mo...

Is there a keyboard shortcut for going to the next keyframe? If not, can you make your own? (command-left/right arrow is not taken I think)

When playing back the animation with "Allow Frame Skipping", how correct is playback speed?

For those here who think of themselves as Professionals, get over yourselves. I do animation professionally, have done so for the last 15 years. That makes me a professional animator, I'm sorry if that offends you. This thread is for people to introduce themselves to Tori and give their opinion on ...

I probably will upgrade. Mostly for the rounded end caps and a few other things like the improved scripting. Like others in this thread, I feel that the "Pro" moniker is a bit of a stretch. Upgrades have often included lots of features that weren't that well thought out while basic functio...

1. Is it possible to make a style from an existing shape?
2. Can we multiple select fills?
3. Is it possible to drag keyframes past other keyframes?
4. Is it possible to copy and paste keyframes between layers?
5. Is there a system for saving and re-using animations between scenes?

AS used to render frame sequences with a zero kb, un-numbered image file. This would often interfere with other software that would try to read the image sequences. Does AS still render this image file?

I didn't upgrade to ASP7, as I read about a bug where embedded scripts crash AS7 when rendering on multiple cores. Has this been resolved?

Thanks for clarifying. This is truly amazing work. Next time someone asks if AS can do this type of animation, the answer will be an equivocal Yes! With the qualifier that the animation is done outside AS/Moho. It would be disingenuous to claim you can achieve this with just AS/Moho. In this case, ...

Whoa, well done (lots of fan service, though). I would be curious to know if AS was used on other than the ending credits. Well, they claim they used Moho to both clean up and inbetween the hand drawn animation. The hand drawn animation counted 4000 drawings, the inbetweens over 10,000. In other wo...

From the creators: “We did key frames on paper first then used vector software to do the between frames and color painting. This is the first time that we use this way to do stuff. Over 4000 key frames hand drawing and over 10,000 inbetweens in this movie.”

Toon Boom? Seems very possible. Was it just for one FX shot, or for the whole series? It's just that Cold Hard Flash mentions it as a Flash animated show. Maybe "Flash animated" has become shorthand for everything 2D CG.

Either way, in this field, Flash reigns supreme.
