I knew that but I was just being polite. You might not be losing your mind (though I'm not a psychiatrist). When I first started playing with ASP7 I was going to export an animation, and it only gave me an AVI or Flash option. I thought, that was odd, I know it should export in other formats. Like,...

I read the article and it's not really saying swf is unstable on a 64bit platform - just that running a 32bit app/plugin on a 64bit system is generally suboptimal (i.e.: playback performance can suffer). On my XP 64 system I run 32bit Firefox with the 32bit flash player plugin installed. Works fine...

Hi Peteroid, Don't worry if masking seems confusing, almost everyone would agree with that. I think the masking system should have a full makeover, so that it is clearer to understand. Personally I have to go to the tutes every single time I use it Ditching the current wording of the masking method...

I'm really very much a novice, so I might not be giving good advice here... but I'll try anyway...hehe Although it will be somewhat tedious and time consuming, you could establish a keyframe for every frame for the camera motion, and then any frame that looks bad manually adjust the parameters. You ...

My first novice LUA question...
I'll probably have questions from time to time since I started studying LUA today. OK. Is it true that since all variables are of 'no type' (or more specifically, the type of whatever value they hold) that they are not declared? Is this implied by it's first use (within the scope it is contained tha...

SWF flies... could this be the reason for difficulties?
I just found this article on-line... apparently it is known that Flash isn't stable on 64-bit machines... hey!... both of my computers happen to be Win 64-bit premium pro machines! And I have problems exporting Flash animation and building SWF files in AS7PRO. I also have problems accessing the in-a...

I'm a computer programmer (have been for...OMG... 40 years...). Actually, I'm a computer game designer... but that's not important right now... :) Today I wrote a small program that does what I've been talking about in this thread. I give it the (camx, camy, camz) location of the camera and another (x...

Fun with the 3D coordinate system!
This is not so much a 'complaint' as it is a somewhat humorous observation (at least for a guy like me that studied math in college). While I actually understand and appreciate why the decisions to design the coordinate system the way it is were made, it is completely non-standard from a pure-math p...

You might have forgotten that AS isn't a 3D application. In 2D, the camera always points at the character, and you'll move backgrounds behind him. Actually, AS7PRO IS a 3D application. If it was only a 2D application as you suggest, then there would be no need for TILT camera, right? :) It's a 3D c...

I'd totally do it the other way round. Create a group layer and put everything inside. PLace the stuff in a way your center if interest is identical with the point of origin of that group layer. Now rotate and tilt to your like ... you don't even have to move your camera. Yes, that will work for th...

Can you move a camera but have IT face a particular spot?
There is an option to make sure a layer will always face the camera. Is there an option that does the reverse... that is... force the camera to always look at a particular location in 3D space or a particular layer (well, it's location)? This 'focus point' function would control roll, pan, and tilt v...

if you split the screen with on eof the icons on the bottom right (just above the timeline) you can set one to orbit, and leave the other normal - you can also zoom right into one, but leave the other zoomed out... you can use bones in the straight up view and see the effect in the rotated view (al...

'Manipulate Bones' vs. Orbit mode + WYSIWYG 'Preview'
Using Orbit mode should not turn off Manipulate Bones mode because it makes sense to want to manipulate bones and then see what it looks like from all angles. * * * In addition, there should be a mode that does a 'Preview' as a WYSIWYG... that is, from the POV of the workspace. I often zoom up to lo...
