Re: Character Test

Nice one! It has a 1990s anime feel. I'm looking forward to seeing more. :D

I tend to be very cynical when people say they'll animate a 30 minute piece. But you went and did it! I can't define exactly what it is, but your passion for this project comes through and it feels like something special. Really nice work!

Re: ۞ Anime girl in Slovak Folk Costume ۞

This is a lovely scene. Well done! The only odd spot I noticed is that the distance between the knee and the top of the boot seems to be changing too much. You might want some change for foreshortening, but something is off. Maybe it's changing at the wrong time to look like foreshortening? But over...

Re: Shameless self promotion.

Ohhh, I remember this story. Sounds like a really cool project. I think it will be a hard sell without any images or examples of animated scenes from the story. If you're planning to start animating after you retire, maybe now would be a good time to do some of that pre-production character and envi...

Re: Motivation

I agree. A lot of knowledge and skill goes into animation and that has to come from somewhere. Plus the "smelly coat of desperation" is a moot point for indie animation; there is no tangible impact of other animators regarding you as desperate. The chance that someone would do actual anima...

Re: Motivation

This one is discussing game development, but it can also be applied to animated projects in general. n5R8mR1ci3c Animated shorts are good examples of the discovery of mass appeal and minimum viable product strategies. Re: I need help making a decision.

Both options have potential. I'd recommend you choose the one that you're most excited about and have the most ideas for. Whichever project you choose, you'll get to practice and improve your skills and maybe you'll even have time to try the other idea later on! Looking forward to see what you come ...

Re: Spook Squad—a TV Pitch animated in Moho Pro

Wow, very nicely done! The black and white with pops of color help this project stand out, but I strongly suspect children would prefer the art to be in color. You could test this by creating color concept art (with a well-designed color palette) and polling kids on their preference. Looking forward...

Re: Sword of Arreon Trailer - please critique

Wow, beautiful visuals! This project has the potential to mesmerize viewers. While the music and visuals build an intense mood, the character acting is confusing that mood. Neeters_guy already mentioned the acting animation. For me the main area for improvement would be the voice acting. Many indie ...

Re: Switching careers?

Disclaimer: I have never tried to work in the animation industry, but I have taken animation classes (in Maya) and often consider changing fields... If you're planning to animate in Maya, do you have a source of rigged models to animate? Are you studying storyboarding and the principles of animation...

Re: The NEW Content Paradise

Has any new seller made it in after the redesign? There was information on becoming a seller before the re-design, but people were unable to complete the process. I'm curious if that has changed. Hoping it will open up and lead to a content renaissance. :D
