Re: Moho still lags on Mac unless started in low resolution mode

Oh my… the lowres mode is gone in macOS Monterey (Apple – why?!?!). And performance on Intel sucks again. Now I really can't use Moho anymore (there's no way to get playback zippy/accurate enough to do proper lip sync anymore), and no plans to buy a new M1 Mac in the next two years (mine is from 201...

Re: Android version?

The latest iPad Pros have M1s (not even pro or max) – I don't think it's the lack of computing power that would be an issue. The performance of a "lowly" M1 iPad Pro scores about the same as the Razer Blade 15… The issue is that you'd have to rework the entire user interface for touch – no...

Re: New Moho course from Bloop Animation

Reanimated the scene for one camera angle, but dang!
According to Murphy's law, of course it was the longest scene in the whole episode – took quite a while to fix and to render.

But it's definitely more natural now.

AWS Thinkbox Deadline for Moho

So it appears that cloud rendering for Moho projects on AWS Thinkbox Deadline is a thing, and I've even asked their sales team about pricing, etc. https://docs.thinkboxsoftware.com/products/deadline/10.0/1_User%20Manual/manual/app-anime-studio.html However as all AWS services, it seems horribly comp...

Re: New Moho course from Bloop Animation

Damn, the 180 degree rule, which I thought I had internalized so well, and didn't even notice I screwed it up… Maybe I re-render that scene and republish the episode… I also found a continuity error in another scene.

Thanks for pointing it out!

Re: New Moho course from Bloop Animation

You think so?
Yeah, I wasn't sure.
When I first did the scene without foley it felt a bit sterile, so I added it to emphasize some of his gestures, but looking at it again, I should've used it in fewer places.

Re: New Moho course from Bloop Animation

I bought the tutorial and did in in Moho 12.5.1. It was super helpful. The new character “Gluk Garglesplash” (the fish-like blue one) in episode 2 of Phungus & Mowld is using the rigging techniques shown in this tutorial. I can only recommend it, although it's probably for more advanced users. M...

Re: "Render Farm" Software

Yeah I recall the way back when I was dabbling in Cinema 4D they had a pure rendering app you could run on other machines on the network and they'd become render nodes. Apple's Compressor can do that too, i.e. flick a switch and your machine can become a node, or if you initiate the process on your ...

Re: Phungus & Mowld Episode 2… took me long enough

Episode is out now, but Amazon did some screw up and my show is now registered twice, once with only one episode and once with two (duhhhh). Had to fix it myself on the backend, but Amazon's digital machinery is slow, so it'll take several days until it's updated on their frontend… Yeah the credits,...

No the saved file is exactly the same, as is the content. So it looks like a bug to me.

Saving on frame 0 is much faster than on later frames

I noticed this now in several scenes I created which were very long. Saving the same scene when the playback "head" is on frame 1 or zero takes a second or less, while saving the same file when the playback head is e.g. on frame 1500 takes forever.

Re: 13.5 BUGS Where do we report them.

Contact support, I've done that over the last month when I was working a lot on Moho. The support guys are super responsive and when you report bugs they're really good at pinpointing the information they need. It would be nice if there were a public bug tracker so you could avoid double reporting, ...

Phungus & Mowld Episode 2… took me long enough

Finally episode 2 of Phungus & Mowld is completed and I'd like to share two trailers with you folks. I've done the whole episode again as a one-man operation: all designs, animation, narration, script writing, editing, post-pro is done by me. All of it in my spare time between job and family. An...

Re: Phungus & Mowld Series (one-man project)

Just a thought, have you considered doing a community project on this? Blender does something of this sort, from what I understand, in which volunteers lend their expertise to a given project. They seem to produce some amazing animations and videos. Of course, this could become more complex with ma...
